1 / 2Blue Reef Aquarium Portsmouth
📍 Southsea, Greater London
Small and diverse marine attraction in Southsea housing fish, otters, chameleons, and a Pacman Frog alongside a walk-through underwater tunnel. Educational displays focus on marine conservation. Best for ages 5–12.
Our son had his 11th birthday here. We have visited a few times as a family and always enjoyed it. The party host (Fleur) was so lovely and made the kids all feel included. Loads of knowledge and enthuisiasm which encouraged the quieter kids to be able to ask questions. Loads of cool animals to see and lots learned. The party room was a good size and the whole 2 hours was really fun, for the adults chaperoning too :) Tanks all clean and animals looked very content, we were amazed just how active they all were so there was great interactions. My boy enjoyed feeding the rays and sharks at the end too. Fleur has an interview today for being a volunteer to work with the fish, we will boycott if you don't give it to her.....jokes but she would smash it
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Curious children aged 5–12 with a genuine interest in marine life and conservation will find the knowledgeable staff and animal variety genuinely engaging. The VIP experience is a strong option for a special occasion.

“Perfect spot for curious kids! We visited Blue Reef Aquarium recently and were really impressed. Beyond just seeing the fish, there’s a lot of great information about marine protection and habitats. It’s very educational without being boring—our 8-year-old had a blast and learned a lot. Definitely worth a visit!”

“Me and my husband were brought the VIP experience as a wedding present, safe to say that was money well spent! The staff there are amazing and friendly and very knowledgeable! We got to go behind the scenes and feed a variety of fish and animals! It is well worth the visit! We will definitely be back!”

“Cute little aquarium with a surprising amount of animal life in there. And definitely some rather different life to the usual - not just an aquarium, but chameleons, otters, and so on. I love the Pacman Frog. The underwater viewing tunnel is excellent, and the otters are just adorable… Good for a 1-2 hour visit, great rainy day alternative if outdoor plans are cancelled.”
