My two daughters have been horse trekking here several times now, and every visit has been excellent. The staff are friendly, patient, and clearly care about both the horses and the children. The horses are well looked after and gentle, which makes it a really enjoyable and confidence-building experience. Each time we go, the girls come away smiling and excited to return. It’s a great place for children to learn, have fun, and feel comfortable around horses. Highly recommended.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children or adults at any riding level — the horse matching and instructor attentiveness make nervous first-timers feel genuinely comfortable, and more experienced riders get opportunities to canter. The off-road bridleway routes through Beacon Fell countryside are a strong draw in their own right.

We had such a brilliant time today! A 2 hr trek and enjoyed every second. We’d never ridden at all before but the instruction was pitched perfectly and we were really well looked after. The route was stunning and the time flew! The instructors kept checking in with us and giving us tips while we rode, the horses were stunning and so well behaved, I felt safe all the way round. We’ll be back, thank you so much!

Went on my 3rd trek this morning and cannot recommend this place enough. The staff are so helpful and welcoming. The ponies are great for beginners or experienced riders. For experienced riders like me, you can have a couple of trots and a canter towards the end. Most of the trek is off road on bridleways and the scenery is just wonderful. I have been riding the lovely Mac who is a gentle giant.

Would highly recommend, such a lovely trek. I was a bit nervous because I haven’t ridden a horse in a year but everyone was so lovely and accommodating, gave me some tips ect. We paid £45 for an 1 hour and 30mins trip which is astonishing such good value. You can tell they cared about the horses and gave me little facts about them, thankfully I was riding Mac the chilled out guy ahahha.
