Crumb and Play
📍 Lichfield, West Midlands
Play café in Lichfield's Heart of the Country Shopping village with chic soft play for under-4s, a role play village called Crumbs Lane for ages 3-6, resident pigs Sandra and Sower in the woodland garden, and a rustic café. Free parking on-site.
Friendly staff, very ascetically appealing, loved the shortbread cookie. Adorable little cup for my little one! First one I’ve been too that so has a garden! Came here today and loved that there was different scarecrows scattered around that little shopping village as it’s spooky season but was gutted that almost all the shops were shut on a Monday but it was still a lovely little walk around. I was unaware of the surroundings before coming so next time I will come on another day to check out the shops and also have a nosey at the “fairy woods” walk just opposite the car park. Make a day out then. Also great to see when leaving they was actually cleaning everything, every fake toy food ect nice to see it being done properly. Lovely place, do agree with the odd comment on here mentioned maybe a stair gate at the bottom too and it did feel a little over crowded when we first arrived but they reserve you a table when you book so that’s a nice added bonus! Very thoughtful to have the added nappies and sanitary products in bathroom.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers aged 14 months to 4 years, with the role play village extending engagement for children up to 6. Allergy families will find the café unusually accommodating — staff handle unusual dietary requirements without fuss. Weekdays are quieter; weekends fill up and table bookings become important.

“On visiting here yesterday with my granddaughter and her uncle. I was as previously stated a little disappointed with the place. However on speaking to the owners who obviously take the time to read the reviews I am now delighted to say all my comments were acknowledged and although I wasn't seeking any compensation they have offered a return visit for us. The idea of the place is lovely and I am sure our next visit will be lovely. I think I would definitely say try it for yourselves and I am sure you will have a great experience.”

“What a place! This is my new favourite day out with my children. Every detail is carefully considered. The toys and props in the role play area are wonderful, with so much to play with. The soft play is perfect size for my 2 year old. The food and drinks available are delicious, with lots of choice and even accommodate gluten free and vegan requirements. The decorations are so beautiful and thoughtful. And the staff were friendly and helpful. I adore it here!”
