π Hull, North West
Free entry Discovery Centre at Spurn National Nature Reserve offering wildlife exhibits, accessible facilities, and an eco-cafe with panoramic Humber Estuary views. Starting point for the three-mile walk to Spurn Point lighthouse.
A lovely place to visit. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend it. Take away hot drinks are available in recyclable cups. We do not sell water in plastic bottles but drinking water is freely available at the Discovery Centre so that you can refill your own. The staff were all very helpful, polite and friendly. The restaurant was very clean, tidy and professional. A ramp is available to get up to the restaurant. Otherwise steps are also available.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families who enjoy coastal walking and wildlife spotting, particularly those heading to Spurn Point lighthouse. The cafe makes an excellent stop before or after the walk, with cakes and hot meals praised by visitors. Dog-friendly throughout. Check cafe closing time before a long walk out β some visitors arrived too late for food service.

βI hadnβt really researched this area beyond finding a car park and toilets for a walk out to Spurn Head lighthouse, so finding a cafe here was a bonus and much appreciated after my walk. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the cake selection was phenomenal (Iβm talking about you, banoffee flapjack!). The visitor centre is really informative and the gift shop is full of lots of local produce and novel Yorkshire itemsβ

βWe got here too late for a coffee which was a shame! However there were toilet facilities which was great after a long walk along the coast! Itβs dog friendly and we loved how the building was constructed to protect itself from high water! Thereβs a WW2 pill box down the road to look at! Thereβs parking across the road from the centre!β

βThis is such a good cafe with amazing views out across the Humber and lovely, helpful staff. I had a perfectly crisp bacon roll followed by the home made fruit cake which was wonderfully fruity and moist. We walked out to Spurn Point and back on a gloriously sunny day. Bliss!β
