Discovery Museum
π Newcastle upon Tyne, North West
Free entry museum in Newcastle showcasing North East industrial and energy history. Features Tiny Tyneside play zone, a second under-5s play area, cafe with children's kitchen corner, and full pram access.
Great FREE museum. They have two different play areas for kids under 5 year olds. They also have a little kitchen and book area in the cafe to entertain your kids while you enjoy a coffee. A lot to see, we didn't get to most so we will be back in the future. Not very busy on a Tuesday.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with under-5s who want indoor play combined with genuine learning content without any admission cost. The two dedicated play areas set it apart from most free museums. Older children engage well with the industrial heritage and energy exhibits. Weekday visits are noticeably quieter.
