1 / 3Funstation Fountain Park Edinburgh
📍 Scotland

We recently celebrated our daughter’s birthday at Fun Station and it was brilliant! The staff, especially Lauren, were incredibly helpful from start to finish. We felt really well looked after and every question we had was answered with a smile. The 50 minutes of unlimited play was fantastic value for money, the kids had the best time and didn’t want it to end. Highly recommend!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for birthday parties and group visits where the unlimited play packages offer genuine value. Solo or casual visits can feel expensive relative to time played. Families who visit regularly should track card ticket balances and expiry dates — the policy has caused frustration for returning customers.

“I find this venue smaller than than the Nottingham venue, but given they also have a mini golf and laser battle it balances it out. My main issue is there didn’t seem many games that could be played adequately as a solo player as many were sport or team type games. Also there didn’t seem to be much choice for high value prizes.”

“Overall not bad however draining pocket instantly. £5 will keep your child busy for less than 10 minutes. For that price you probably will find better entertainment around Fountain Park.”

“I used to attend frequently. In fact, I was able to save enough tickets years ago to get a Nintendo Switch as a prize. It took me over a year of trips to earn so many tickets, but I was thrilled. After moving away from the area, and then back again, I was excited to go back. When I checked my card though, my over 17,000 tickets were gone. I was told if they are not used within a year, they are wiped. This hadn't been made clear at any point, so I challenged it as politely and honestly as I could, but was made to feel like an idiot throughout. The best they would offer was £15 of play to my card. I had spent hundreds just to accumulate those tickets, let alone the tickets I'd earned previously and this was all they would offer. I went to trading standards, but as yet, I've not heard back. I'm gutted, as this is where my partner and I spent date nights, but I refuse to give them my money anymore.”

Overview
The cashless tap-to-play system covers arcade machines, VR games, and prize-winning carnival games. Escape rooms add a separate activity layer — the Upside Down room has a dedicated following. The venue is smaller than other Funstation locations, with fewer solo-friendly machines — most games suit groups or pairs. Birthday parties with unlimited play packages receive the strongest reviews, with Lauren named specifically for excellent party hosting. Tickets stored on cards expire after one year.
