1 / 2Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World
📍 Hadley, North West
Working zoo with rescued wolves, big cats, meerkats, and lemurs plus Hoo-Rassic World — one of the UK's most immersive dinosaur parks with life-size moving displays and daily shows.
Really loved this park. It doesn't look that much from the outside but it's a very caring zoo with a lot of the animals being rescued from different places. We spent almost the whole day here which i wasn't expecting. There's loads of animals which all look happy and well cared for. As well as that they have all got spaces to hide if they don't want to be in view of the public. The dinosaur walk is amazing with massive moving models and information on each dinosaur. My only criticism here is the information could do with being slightly less and the font being made bigger so it's easy to read. There's a nice little cafe selling hot and cold lunch items, it doesn't open till 11 which is a bit of a shame and it would be lovely to see some cakes and more inside seating. Definitely worth a visit and great to support a smaller zoo.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children 5+ who embrace outdoor adventure and don't mind getting muddy. The dinosaur walk is genuinely impressive and the rescued animals are clearly thriving. Wellies are non-negotiable — the site gets waterlogged fast. Not wheelchair accessible in wet conditions.

“Such a lovely Zoo/Mini Safari adventure! There are lots of animals, some that you wouldnt ordinarily see at a zoo. The Dinosaur Park (Hoo-Rassic World) is simply fabulous. You can tell, lots of thought, time and money has gone into the park. Well worth booking in advance and looking for voucher deals from websites, such as Groupon etc. Just make sure you read the T&C. I managed a fab deal during half term....2 x Family day passes (10 people) for £52.80! It took a while to hunt around for deals, but it is well worth it! Hot and cold food is available to buy, but we took packed lunches to keep the cost down. We did buy hot drinks which were reasonably priced. Great adventure for the whole family. Go and enjoy!”

“We visited today for the lemur and meerkat experience, we had a good amount of time with both the meerkats and 2 different types of lemur. The zoo keeper was very knowledgeable and friendly with a good sense of humour. There were many photo and video opportunities within this experience. We visited the rest of the zoo afterwards and overall was a great day out! All of the staff were super friendly and approachable. Cannot recommend enough, thanks guys :)”

“Dinosaur part was awesome kids loved it. We saw monkeys, about 4 different types of large cats, wolves, meerkat, wallabys, parrots and goats. They loved the small zip line in the park which was insanely waterlogged. Very muddy, wear wellies! But again didn't put kids off at all. I wouldn't plan to eat here unless you bring a picnic. Very basic cafe with no seating in the same area. You have to cross to a different building for benches. All in all we would go again and the kids loved it. Could do it in a few hours. Oh the main car park is very small and nearly half the spaces are disabled which was a bit crazy as they were all empty and we got there at 11.30.”
