1 / 2Lesnes Abbey Playground
📍 Belvedere, Greater London
Large playground in Belvedere featuring a castle-style blue slide, swings, climbing equipment, a bike track, basketball and football court, adult gym equipment, and a freerunning obstacle course — all within Lesnes Abbey Woods grounds.
This is a spacious and well-equipped playground located not far from the beautiful Lesnes Abbey ruins. It offers a good variety of facilities for children of all ages. The large blue castle slide is especially popular – slightly worn with age, but still a lot of fun and full of character. There’s also a climbing area that’s great for older kids, and a few picnic tables nearby, making it a nice spot for families to relax. The only downside is that the ground can be a little dirty at times, with some litter around. A bit more regular cleaning would really improve the experience. Overall, it’s a great spot for a play break if you’re visiting the area. In summer there is an ice cream truck parking by the park with reasonable prices.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children across a wide age range — toddlers through to teenagers — who want a full outdoor session rather than a quick playground stop. The mix of castle slide, bike track, sports court, and freerunning obstacles keeps different ages occupied simultaneously. Plan toilet access before arrival.

“A clean sheet place for the children to run around and have good old fashioned fun. It has a bike track up at the back right hand corner for kids who are past the learning stage to have fun. Swings climbing g frams. A mix football/basketball court. A free runners obstacle course / gymnastics bars. And of course if you'd like to explore a huge abbey worth walking around.”

“5 star playground if not for the total absence of restrooms. If you don't count the bushes. Well maintained and diverse for all ages. However, some supervision would be welcomed as teenagers are making out on the swings with little children around. An ideal place for a family picnic as the playground is well fenced and gated. And a Mr Whippy frequents the playground for a little snack.”
