We came to the safari park for the Wallace and gromit lights, we also came in 2023 for the lights and they are out of this world! So so good!! When we came this time the weather was horrific (11/1/26) I was so surprised at the staff! They were all so happy and upbeat even though standing for long periods being pelted on the face by what could only be described as a full on storm! We still had staff members offering to take our photos even at half 6 when I’m sure they all wanted to go home and get dry! We started on foot and headed straight for the boat, my 3 year old loved feeding the Sealions! We then carried on the foot Safari until we couldn’t take the cold any longer and headed for the car Safari (we didn’t get out for the wallaby’s bit we didn’t dare what with the weather). That was hands down our best safari experience we’ve ever had! The animals were all happy and playing! The blooming monkeys nicked a teddy tardis which I’d forgotten was attached to the grill πŸ«£πŸ˜‚ but this made our toddler cry with laughter and she’s still talking about it now a month on! I could not recommend this safari park more! Our only regret is we’ve not managed to visit in warmer months! You will definitely be getting a visit this summer!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Exceptional for families with young children and toddlers who want a full day of animal encounters with genuinely caring, knowledgeable staff. The drive-through safari, walking areas, and seasonal events add up to far more than a single day can cover comfortably.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Consider a two-day ticket β€” most families find one day is not enough to see everything
⏰The Wallace and Gromit seasonal lights event is exceptional and worth planning a separate visit
🎟️VIP meerkat experiences are highly recommended by members β€” check availability when booking
πŸš—Staff are approachable and knowledgeable β€” ask them about individual animals for stories and facts

β€œWe went to Longleat for the Christmas lights! We spent a fun day exploring the animals and visiting Santa on the Santa train. The train took us to Santa's grotto where we saw Santa and got a lovely Longleat teddy bear. We then had some face painting and hot chocolate. After visiting Santa, we took the safari, and it was so much fun! We got to see all the animals up close, especially the lions and tigers. In the afternoon, we explored the play areas and then enjoyed a wonderful picnic. After that, we waited for the lights to come on. They were really beautiful, but unfortunately, a really bad downpour started, and we got pretty soaked! But the lights were super cool! They told some amazing stories about Wallace and Gromit, and Shaun the Sheep.”

β€œWe absolutely love Longleat! The staff are so nice and great to chat to. They all have a wonderful respect for the animals. I get so many fun stories from them and we learn a lot about the animals. We've been members for a while now and it's worth every penny! I highly recommend the VIP meerkat experience.”
