1 / 2Middleton Park
π Middleton, Yorkshire
A large Leeds park featuring a well-signposted urban bike park for all abilities, children's playground, woodland walking trails, a lake, a rose garden, and an on-site cafe. Free entry with free parking.
Wonderful day out with our preschoolers. The urban bike park is simply fantastic; well thought out and maintained, clear signage, something for all abilities. The cafe was fantastic; lovely staff, reasonably priced menu and great atmosphere. Short wander through the rest of the park was really nice with a lovely view point and lots to explore. The parking was quite full, but we did arrive mid-morning on a sunny bank holiday so that's not massively surprising. Despite being busy other visitors and users were respectful of the space needed by younger or less-experienced riders and there were very few ignoring the direction markers
π Family Action Verdict
Best for active families with children across a range of ages β the bike park draws younger riders and beginners, the woodland trails suit walkers of all paces, and the lake and rose garden give adults somewhere to settle. The cafe makes it a viable full-morning or full-day destination without needing to pack everything in advance.

βTranquil woods with well established trees with combination of little trails if you wet off the beaten track and also wide paths for easy access for wheels and walking sticks. Cam walk from the John Charles sports centre right up to Middleton main road. From 20 minutes to 2 hours walks. There is a rose garden with a nice walk and a small lake. A sporty bike track with lots of jumps and a coffee shop with WiFi. Chestnut π° trees in October and blackberries in August. So lots of foraging opportunities. Clean air and a refreshing place to spend a morning.β

βMiddleton Park is a great place for a dog walk or to take the kids for a play, there is plenty of field space to enjoy, a lake to have a sit by and relax. A cafe to stop at for a bite to eat or a drink. A kids playground with plenty of things to play on. A nice little ride garden up past the lookout point at the top of the hill. There are also plenty of woodland walks to have an explore. Friendly people and staff, clean and tidy too.β

βAbsolutely stunning woodland- lots of places to explore. Great for walking dogs - pathed areas and fields with amazing views. Stunning every season - especially when the bluebells in season. I love coming here - so lucky to have this in the area. There is also a childrenβs play area and cafe so a great place to visit.β
