Fantastic building and working swimming pool. One of the pools is being renovated, and wile it is it's being used as venue to hire and exhibition space

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with older children interested in history and heritage architecture rather than modern leisure amenities. The private cubicle changing setup suits families who prefer more privacy. Basic facilities with no pre- or post-swim showers reported by some visitors — set expectations accordingly.

â„šī¸ What to Know Before You Go

💡Check current opening status directly with the baths before visiting — refurbishment periods have caused temporary closures
⏰Arrange a guided tour in advance for a structured heritage experience with children
đŸŽŸī¸Private changing cubicles offer more privacy than typical open-plan leisure centre changing rooms
🚗Located on Alcester Road, approximately 5–7 minutes from Birmingham city centre

“The only grade II listed pool in the whole West Midlands? This is a fantastic place to go back in time and celebrate one of the most historic buildings and classic architecture in Birmingham. Just less than 5-7 minutes drive from central Birmingham on a good traffic day, this pool is located on Alcester Road with good bus links or a Uber ride away. The pool has changing rooms, toilets and showers all around it allowing you to be comfortable and staying in the same space. The staff are super friendly and amazing. This week as I have been told is the last week before the big refurb and the Moseley Baths will be closed until Spring 2025. Definitely a must visit if you are visiting Birmingham and I am most definitely looking forward to visit Birmingham once it is open again.”

“My mother and I had a fantastic time here at the baths today. We dropped in to see what we could due to it being in the National Trust handbook. The administrator was so lovely and very kindly shown us around giving us lots of very interesting and informative information about the baths. Thank you very much!😊 There are lots of photos of the baths and also information boards too. There are also official tours available so we hope to pop back. The architecture is wonderful and there are so many original features to look at. I would recommend popping in to see it.”

“Fabulous Edwardian swimming pool run by local friends group. Please go for a swim to support them. There's character here you don't find at leisure centres.”
