1 / 2Move Altrincham
📍 Altrincham, North West
Modern leisure centre with clip and climb wall, 25m swimming pool, expanded gym, badminton courts, group fitness classes, sensory room, and Reformer Pilates studio. Pay-as-you-go and membership options available.
I just want to give proper recognition to Micah at Move Altrincham for the excellent work he does. His passion for helping people improve their health and strength really stands out. You can tell he genuinely cares about making a difference. During sessions, he doesn’t just stand back and instruct — he works with you, supports you, and makes sure everyone feels involved and motivated. By the end of every Blast session, the whole group is fully engaged (especially when the card game comes out — everyone gets properly involved!). It creates such a positive and energetic atmosphere. Micah makes sure everyone is enjoying their time while still pushing us to improve. That balance isn’t easy, and he does it brilliantly. Recognition definitely needs to be given where it’s due. It’s honestly a shame they don’t offer one-to-one sessions, because that would 100% be my next step to get the very best out of myself. Highly recommend
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for active families with children aged 6+ who want variety — the clip and climb wall, pool, and badminton courts offer genuinely different activities across one visit. Younger children with access needs will benefit from the sensory room and pram-accessible layout. Check car park availability before peak-hour visits.

“I’ve been visiting most mornings and so far, so good. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, the swimming pool is excellent, and the gym staff are friendly and helpful. Changing rooms are decent, and The Cove next door is great for a sauna after a workout. The only small downside is the car park, which can get busy at peak times, although early mornings are fine. Overall, a great gym and pool with everything you need.”

“This leisure centre is absolutely brilliant after the renovation. The swimming pool is quite big and it has enough room to swim around during the general swim. The machines in the gym have gotten a major upgrade. The badminton courts could be better but otherwise they are very good. The classes are nice. One thing that could be better is the parking situation. The car park always gets full and it has so many potholes. The parking needs to be extended to keep up with the size of move Altrincham”

“New gym and facilities are excellent. However spa shuts at 8pm mid week and 4pm on weekends which is no use to anyone who wants to use it post workout, especially after work in an evening. If they change it to 10pm and 6pm be so much better.”
