1 / 2NTHC - Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre
📍 Nottingham, Greater London
Heritage transport centre with full-size railway rides, a ride-on miniature railway, model railway displays, and a classic bus collection. Operates mainly on Sundays and special event days. On-site Heritage Café and free parking.
Fantastic railway and bus heritage centre, with plenty of special days and events. We attended on bus rally day and enjoyed unlimited bus rides in addition to the train journeys. Fantastic, dedicated volunteers create exceptional atmosphere. Due to the age of the vehicles, they are not fully accessible, but staff accommodated wheelchair users, making their rides possible. Gold star for their care and attentiveness! Highly recommended place for transport enthusiasts of any age!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children who are genuinely interested in trains, heritage vehicles, or transport history. Sunday visits when volunteer-operated trains are running give the best experience, and special event days with bus rally trips add significant extra value.

“Great place not only for transport enthusiasts but for families as well. Especially on Sundays (maybe Saturday as well, not sure) when little train running by volunteers. 1£ per person per ride. You can try all of train available on the day. Have some English breakfast, roast dinner, burger in cafe. Better price than in Coffee and cake by the lake. Returning here regularly then have some time in Rushclife park.”

“Really interesting if you like buses and old railways. Staff are friendly lots for kids to see small trains to ride on and a full size railway to ride on. Bus trips on event days. Great cafe does breakfasts and dinners cake, snacks and a freezer full of ice cream. There are three little railways out side one to ride on as mentioned above. Lots of parking and it is next door to a country park.”
