Me and my Mum had the most incredible day at Peak Wildlife Park, kindly organised by Willow’s Charity. I chose the Polar Bear Experience, and it was an absolute privilege to get so close to these magnificent animals and even feed them. Our guide, Calen, was phenomenal. She was so knowledgeable and her passion for the bears was evident in everything she shared. We also stopped off for a coffee as well as lunch; the service was efficient and friendly. We really enjoyed the vegan hot dog! The park was very quiet when we went on a weekday, which made the experience even better as we could take our time. We spent the rest of the day wandering around seeing all the other amazing animals; the atmosphere is wonderful and there is so much to see. We loved all of the walk thru enclosures to be able to interact closely with the animals. Time flew by and we enjoyed every single minute. I can't recommend this experience and the park highly enough! We would love to come back for the tapir experience :)

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with young children who want genuine hands-on animal encounters without paying extra. Walking through the wallaby paddock with joeys or feeding lemurs is the kind of experience that costs significantly more at larger zoos. Warmer days bring animals out of their shelters, so a sunny weekday visit delivers the fullest experience.

Peak Wildlife Park offers a charming and intimate wildlife experience. It's not as sprawling as some larger zoos, but that's part of its appeal. You get up close and personal with a variety of animals, including lemurs, penguins, wallabies, and meerkats, with opportunities to walk among some of them. The park is well-maintained, and the animals appear happy and healthy. It's particularly great for families with young children, as the smaller size makes it easy to navigate, and the interactive experiences are a big hit. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. While it may not have the same range of species as larger zoos, Peak Wildlife Park provides a delightful and engaging day out, perfect for those who appreciate a more personal and relaxed wildlife encounter. It's a hidden gem in the Leek area.

Delightful and well thought out Wildlife park! For a cheaper ticket I would recommend booking online. It was wonderful to feed the Wallabies (£1.95) per feed pack, on the walk with the Wallabies who were super friendly! Some had Joey's as you can see from the photos are very cute. Pleased to see the Capabaras, Clementine and Marmalade who are new to the park. It was enjoyable to brush the sheep and watching the Lemurs being fed. The keeper gave an excellent talk on the Lemurs! It was good to see that the park had designated quite spots. Plenty of parking, big cafe with vegan options. Lots of variety and items for all budgets in the gift shop. I am looking forward to visiting again in the warmer weather and to brushing the sheep!

A wonderful day out!! Went just me and my partner for a spontaneous day out. This is by far the most hands on experience I've ever had at any zoo without having to pay for experiences, you can walk through the capybara, wallaby, rabbit, penguin, lemur, sheep, goats and red squirrel enclosures and get up close to the animals, you can also feed the wallaby and deer which is lovely! Really fun day out for people of any age that love animals and want to spend some quality time together.
