I recently visited Prison Island in London as a group of 4 friends and had a fantastic time - it honestly was one of the best things I've done in London for years! Once you check in, you have a quick pre-show, and then you're left to explore the 31 different games. They all vary in style and game type, ranging from puzzles to physical activities to reflex responses. You get 90 minutes to complete as many of them as you can. In the time we managed to do over 25 rooms! It counts all your points, and if you do well enough, you go on the daily (or monthly) leaderboard. We ended up being 5th on the daily leaderboard! The entire experience was well managed, the staff were friendly, and overall, it's a great activity to do in London on a rainy day. I'd highly recommend it for a fun afternoon out, a party, work gathering or party - it definitely brings out your competitive edge!

๐Ÿ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 7+ and teens who thrive on competition and physical activity. Groups of 3-4 get the most out of each room. Particularly welcoming for families with ASD โ€” the structured format and clear objectives keep sensory surprises minimal. Console-loving kids consistently end up hooked.

โ„น๏ธ What to Know Before You Go

๐Ÿ’กWear comfortable, breathable clothing โ€” rooms get warm during physical challenges
โฐGroups of 3-4 are optimal; larger groups should split to avoid cramped rooms
๐ŸŽŸ๏ธUse the onsite lockers for bags and coats before starting
๐Ÿš—Arrive early to beat queues for popular rooms

โ€œThis place is absolutely full of excitement fun and fast pace adrenalin. I took and a party of 9 here for my son 16th, he's a fan of consoles and hasn't got much interest in games or sports so I was worried he wouldn't enjoy himself. We're a family with asd including himself and this place was perfect family day out staff were on point and helpfull I could hear the laughter and chaos from my other group it was a real mummy memory bank moment. Best to split into two groups min three people. You can start your games when you are ready they have tables amd chairs and a drinks bars that they sell cider soft drinks and crisps i would advise going to eat before as the rush and busel you need energy.y youngest was 11 at time and I think this is perfect age to visit Prison Islandโ€

โ€œHighly recommend! We played as a couple and lots to do. Variety of challenges in different rooms, more to achieve than you are given the time for so itโ€™s a fun experience. It gets busy so recommend you get there early. When busy you might need to wait to get into rooms, or run around finding ones available. Some challenges are physical so wear clothes youโ€™ll be comfy/cool in. Rooms can be small so teams of 3-4 ideal, you can play as a couple and still try the 3+ people rooms just unlikely youโ€™ll get top score. The best thing about this place was you could exit and re-enter the room as many times as you liked to try the challenge again, just your top score from all attempts counts. Lockers are provided so great for coats/bags etc.โ€

โ€œThoroughly enjoyed this place. It's not your typical escape room, but more a series of challenges that you need to finish within 1.5 hours. Heaps of fun and the challenges vary from room to room. I would recommend a group of 3 or 4, any more than that and it'll get cramped in some of the rooms. They have lockers so id suggest doing this in shorts and t-shirts as it gets hot with some of the physical challenges.โ€

Overview

Prison Island London pits teams of 3-4 against 31 distinct challenge rooms in a 90-minute session. Rooms vary in style from physical feats to quick-fire puzzles โ€” no two are alike. Groups race to complete as many as possible, with dedicated staff and a pre-show briefing to get everyone started. Larger parties beyond 4 will find some rooms cramped, so splitting into smaller teams works best.
