1 / 3Revolution Gymnastics
π Selly Oak, West Midlands
Revolution Gymnastics runs recreational classes, competitive squads, holiday camps, and birthday parties across trampoline, tumbling, and gymnastics disciplines. Coaching quality in recreational classes draws criticism from multiple parents.
My two daughters have attended Revolution for a number of years and they really enjoy it. There is a variety of good, well maintained equipment, and the girls are improving in their gymnastics and receive regular certificates to keep them engaged. The cafe is beginning to look a bit tired, so perhaps they could invest in this space for the future.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for serious competitive gymnasts who will benefit from the well-equipped facility and squad programme. Families seeking quality recreational coaching for beginners or toddlers should audit the coaching staff carefully before committing β multiple parents report inadequate instruction and poor communication.

βPros: Well-equipped facility. Many of the young coaches are helpful. Cons: It is very focused on generating money from participants. Our monthly charges went up 16% in the 2.5 years my daughter was there. Cursory notice of this, saying you can leave if you canβt afford it. If you cancel on the 31st of the month you will be charged 1 month notice (fair enough), if you cancel on the 1st of the month you will be charged 2 monthsβ notice. This is an obviously unfair contract, aimed at generating additional revenue. And you canβt stop that extra payment, because they control the payment not you. Communication is very limited. In particular they provide no updates on development in the recreational groups, other than occasionally giving out badges (which you have to pay for). My daughter passed a trial for the competition squad (you had to pay for the trial), only to be told that was just the first of two trials. Apparently thereβs then a waiting list. In the end my daughter asked to stop because she felt she wasnβt making any more progress and was bored. I would have passed this feedback on to the club, but they were too busy insisting on payment for 7 weeks of notice and didnβt seem interested in why she was leaving!β

βPlace is lovely but the main thing that you paying money for are the coaches and this is where they really need improvement. I been going to this place for some time hoping it will turn better but unfortunately my daughterβs progression is going downhill due to lack of any coaching from so called professionals. Safeguarding is awful my daughter been hit by other child in her chest and the coach just left her on the side to sit there until she would get better. I wouldβt mind if the coach would pass my daughter to me to make sure she is fine but instead I have to look through the window to see her sitting there on the side on her own and deal with pain in her chest. When I spoke to coach at the end of the session she blamed the other child rather than take responsibility of her own as at the end of the day she asked my daughter to come closer and did not anticipate that other child doing forward roll will end up hitting my child in the chest with his legs. No apology, no reassurance of taking better care, nothing. I wish there would be some other place to go to as my daughter really likes gymnasticsβ

βI have had a negative experience with this establishment, particularly regarding their handling of complaints. I have been a customer for several years, but after witnessing a male staff member shouting at children under four years old, I felt compelled to raise my concerns. I attempted multiple times to speak with a manager, but the reception staff were unhelpful and dismissive. They informed me that no managers were available, which was misleading because my friend saw two managers chatting on the premises. In all honesty, I would advise against spending your money here. I would give this place 0 stars.β
