1 / 3SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth
📍 Great Yarmouth, Greater London
Features a 250,000-litre ocean tunnel, Humboldt penguin encounters, interactive Rock Pool Explorer touching pools, jellyfish displays, and African Dwarf Crocodiles. Monthly quiet sessions available for sensory-sensitive visitors.
We had a lovely afternoon at Sea Life Great Yarmouth during half term. We prebooked our tickets online the day before, and after having our tickets scanned and hands stamped, we were able to explore the aquarium. We picked up an activity booklet called 'Experience the Great Turtle Odyssey' from the front desk and my daughter was keen to find the turtle challenges and fill in her answers as we wandered around. We loved the different areas and how they were set up and displayed. It only enhanced our experience when we were there! We loved seeing all the fishes and sea animals. We were even happier to see that the penguins had an outdoor space as well as an indoor one unlike Sea Life London. We always feel sorry for the penguins there as when we last visited, they did not have an outdoor area. Although it was half-term, the aquarium was not that busy and we enjoyed walking leisurely through each area and did not feel rushed. When we finally got to the gift shop about an hour and a half later, the lady who served us was very friendly and happy. All in all, it was a lovely way to spend a rainy afternoon.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with young children who enjoy hands-on marine experiences. The touching pool and penguin encounter are the standout draws for under-10s. Off-season visits offer lower entry prices and a less crowded experience. Norfolk residents should ask about local discount pricing before booking online. Budget for nearby parking separately.

“Not as big as other Sealife Centre s but still plenty to see and do. The café was reasonably priced and the bathroom facilities were very clean. Ample room to change the baby.”

“My son had a lovely time touching the starfish and little waterfall, and loved the sharks. Staff were understanding of his autism and that was much appreciated, cool octopus there too! Going to take him to see the penguins next time. Prices were better too off season, only £16 pp, and a free ticket for a carer if you're on PIP, so saved £16 too. Overall good activity for kids and adults alike, but the gift shop is very expensive! Avoid at all costs if possible haha! Only a stone's throw away from places to get food and drink too, and right on the sea front, bowling alley on the nearby Wellington Pier and arcades also. Very well situated, also close to Pleasure Beach. I'd recommend it to anyone with kids.”

“Have been a few time over the years, and it seams to be different everytime I go in as they have relocated an enclosure or changed theme. staff always welcoming and friendly, freat location and easy to find. species are well listed. I know they used to offer sleeping exeriences but not sure if they still do? I've always bought my tickets on entry with no queing time.”
