1 / 3SEA LIFE London Aquarium
📍 London, Greater London
London's major aquarium across three floors with 14 themed zones, 500+ species, Gentoo penguins, interactive rockpools, and a walk-through underwater tunnel. Exhibits are designed at child-friendly heights.
Visited SEA LIFE London Aquarium with the children and hubby we had a really good day overall. There was so much for them to see and they were excited the whole way through. We loved seeing all the fish and turtles, and the stingrays were my favourite because you can get really close to them. There was an unexpected moment during our visit when the fire alarm was set off by another child (we don’t know who), so everyone had to go outside in the cold and then come back in. Staff handled it really well and kept everything calm and organised. The penguin area was quite dark when we visited so we couldn’t see them clearly, but we understand and respect that this is part of their natural routine at this time of year. Pros • Loads for children to see and enjoy • Stingrays up close were amazing • Great variety of sea life (fish, turtles, rays) • Staff dealt with the fire alarm situation really well Cons • Penguins were difficult to see due to low lighting (understandable, but worth noting) • Photo packages are quite expensive, especially if you’re doing multiple attractions in one day • Snacks inside are extremely overpriced don’t rely on buying snacks there Cost tips • Bring your own snacks and drinks if you can • If you need to grab snacks, there’s a Tesco Express about a 5-minute walk away and it’s likely the cheapest option nearby Overall: a really enjoyable family day out just plan ahead for snacks and extras like photos.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children of all ages who want an immersive marine experience. Exhibits are pitched at child height and engagement levels are high throughout. Bring your own snacks — food inside is expensive. Allow at least three hours to move through everything comfortably without rushing.

“As someone who has visited multiple aquariums around the world, I can confidently say this is a solid, beautiful aquarium. It might not completely blow your mind if you're a seasoned aquarium-goer, but it earns its 5 stars because it is exceptionally well-maintained and has absolutely everything you would expect. A few highlights from my visit: • The Reef Walk-Through: Walking under the reef tunnel is a fantastic experience and offers some great views. • The Clownfish Exhibit: They have a massive clownfish area (as you can see in my photos, it's perfect if you're looking for Nemo!). • Great Variety: The exhibits range from mesmerizing jellyfish and vibrant tangs to crocodiles, penguins, and even sharks swimming around imposing Moai statues. They really cover all the bases. ⚠️ A quick warning for tall folks: If you are over 6'4", be very careful. There are quite a few low-hanging areas throughout the exhibits, and I definitely bumped my head a few times navigating through them! Overall Verdict: It’s an excellent, classic aquarium. It covers all the basics beautifully and provides exactly the kind of aquatic escape you want right in the middle of London.”

“I visited Sea life London aquarium last month - now I have returned back to india. Yes this is really good place of aquarium life show. Here you can see many more water bodies just like inside sea.... this aquarium has built itself very nicely with great work that it sometimes looks as we are traveling inside sea.... very good for children, students or sea life loving person... one must visit once. I am sure you will enjoy... I enjoyed penguin area & almost all spots were very attractive and excellent.... maintenance, cleanliness was good. Include this spot in your tourist and travel. This place is just adjacent to london eye. Very close to Westminster tube and Westminster itself. Happy journey... Good wishes....”

“This is a beautiful place to take your children to. The exhibits are catered to children and at the perfect heights for inquisitive eyes & minds. The aquarium has guides that speak about the types of marine life in the exhibits as you walk through and the music and atmosphere of each exhibit really takes you into a whole other world. It was a very nice place to visit and enjoy together!!”
