1 / 3Skegness Aquarium
📍 Skegness, Yorkshire
Compact pirate-themed aquarium in Skegness with Black Tip Reef Sharks, rays, seahorses, moon jellies, and snakes across themed areas.
Really lovely little aquarium. Visited Friday in March (around 1pm). No queue and around 10 people total in the whole place. Lovely spacious tanks with a variety of fish, loved the snakes too. Gorgeous sharks in the big main tank as well as some rays. The staff were super helpful and really lovely. Even helped me fix my "make your own" keychain. They were really patient and would visit again on that alone. Really good value for money I think. £33 for two adults, spent around 1hr20 in total. Can definitely be done in 10 minutes, however if you take your time to look around each tank and read the information available you can be there awhile. Shop was stocked well with lots of different products for all different ages. All really good prices, good for gifts and for spending pocket money. Only downside is that it seems a little dated and could do with some refurb, but the staff are definitely doing the best with what they have. Overall: A really good little aquarium to kill some time. Really good staff. A little dated, but not too noticeable. Would 100% go again.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want close-up marine encounters in a relaxed, unhurried setting rather than a large-scale aquarium. The diving experience is genuinely accessible for first-timers and makes this a standout choice for older children and adults. Younger children respond well to the outdoor dinosaur dig and soft play.

“Fantastic place for a family day out, my little boy had so much fun there are lots of interactive things to do. He loved the dinosaur section outside with the sand pit where you could dig for dinosaur bones. There is also a soft play within the aquarium about half way in so you can let the kids have a run around whilst you grab a coffe/ bite to eat. Most importantly they have a great selection of sea life which beautiful to look at and are well looked after.”

“Really excellent hour. As everything is in there, and up close, it was the most fun dive experience since diving with mantas off Labuanbajao 20 years ago. Jamie and Andy were great, walking two complete novices through everything and calming them down, and did me a quick refresher as it’s been a while. Super efficient and great fun. Rays, sharks, large fish… would recommend to all.”

“Absolutely loved the shark diving experience! It was my first time diving in my life, trainers explained everything clearly before the dive, which made me feel safe and confident the whole time. We were in the water for about 45 minutes, more than enough to fully enjoy and appreciate the experience. I would definitely recommend it to everybody!”
