Somerford Park Farm
π Congleton, North West
Somerford Park Farm near Congleton offers 15 surfaced arenas, two cross-country schooling fields, an all-weather 10km farm ride, and 83 stables. Riding lessons, birthday hack parties, clinics, and competition facilities available.
Winter xc arena hire is awesome, such a massive area. A nice edition would be a smaller ditch, the one there is quite big so when we take the youngster there isn't a smaller option to start with. Otherwise fabulous surface, good hardstanding to park on. Massive water with an island, steps and jumps. No mud!!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for experienced riding families and groups seeking top-tier arena and cross-country facilities β the surface quality allows cantering and jumping through winter conditions. Birthday farm rides work well for groups of five or more children covering the 10km course. The riding infrastructure is genuinely impressive.

βIβve never experienced customer service as poor as from the woman in the office , following years of loyal custom. After receiving an incredibly curt phone call and aggressive text message, I was met in the office by a barrage of unnecessary and disproportionate abuse. I will not be returning, recommending or bringing clients to this venue. I have never been spoken to as I had been on Saturday by Sue - it caused me to leave the premises - despite having booked and paid for stabling, hook up and x country the next day! I chose to leave as the treatment shown to me was totally unacceptable. To offer context, Sue had called me - still within my slot - and asked me to put the fences up. I had no idea that I was supposed to put them to 1m but equally, as I said to Sue, they were falling down throughout our hire due to the high winds. However, I apologised immediately and assured Sue that I would be going straight there. Sue knew, as she had booked my entire stay, that I was in the stable block at that moment. In fact, she called someone in the stable to tell me. Arena 4 is not next door to the overnight stabling - as presumable everyone is aware - and I couldnβt drive to the arena as I was in my lorry. So to get a downright rude message about βno attmept being madeβ to put up the fences whilst walking to the arena was, quite frankly, disgraceful. I was putting up the remaining jumps by 5.04 - the ones that had been left by the site team. I have to say, however, that my complaint lies more with the attitude and manner in which I was treated. Had Sue been less aggressive in tone and approach, we would perhaps have felt less personally attacked and belittled. She was rude and dismissive, lacking any humanity or willingness to talk to me as a customer who had committed to spending a weekend with you.β
