1 / 3Tamworth Climbing
π Tamworth, West Midlands
Fifteen climbing challenges from 6 to 10 metres in the SnowDome foyer, including twister tower, ice wall, speed climb, tree trunks, and cargo nets. No experience required, minimum age 4, maximum weight 22 stone.
We had a great time, came with a 12 yo and two 10 yo. Got a 2 for 1 deal, so it was very cheap. Only 8 climbers, so we didn't have to wait to climb. I THINK there were 12 or so routes. The kids were able to go two at a time and 'race' each other on most walls. Staff were very friendly, helpful & chatty.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for confident children aged 10 and up visiting during quieter weekday sessions when wait times are short and routes are accessible. The clip-and-climb format is engaging for children who can follow safety instructions independently.

βGreat evening out. Suitable for kids as well as adults. Paid for half an hour and it was just right as going up the escalators a few times is enough. Spent some time with drinks, so overall time there was about 2hrs and 30 mins.β

βBooked climbing at Snowdome Tamworth. No proper rock climbing wall if thatβs what youβre looking for. They donβt specify that on website. Itβs a childrenβs playground and not really suitable for adults. I walked in and out disappointedβ

βAwful climbing. I went with my son and partner. My son has autism so i thought something like this he'd enjoy. I told staff my son had autism so to spectate carefully. How wrong was I. The first wall he climbed on he came down and wacked his head as he couldnt figure out how to get down properly even after watching the safety video. I went mad as he wasn't being supervised, theres not much i can do due to lack of visability standing behind the rails and not being aloud behind them. I asked is there any chance kids can put helmets on due to the matter and they said they cant due to health and ssfety if the helmet gets caught etc. Yet the harnesses have more chance of being caught! I was also told it was MY JOB as a parent to keep an eye on my child! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE. It is your iob to do this. It is understaffed yet over capacitated with kids. If you cant watch them AS YOUR JOB, you shouldnt be doing this role. Considering a 12 year old boy was unalived here years ago, you'd think the helmets would apply everywhere!! This is the lady i was pissed at and thats my son behind her. This is a video. And i filmed my son hitting his head and no one else noticed. When i informed staff, they wasnt bothered! I just kept getting starred at for going mad which i had every rights too. They are too busy standing around chit chatting to eachother rather than watch peoples babies stay safe !! Shocking and this is what our membership goes on?!β

Overview
Tamworth Climbing sits in the SnowDome entrance foyer and runs 55-minute clip-and-climb sessions across 15 routes ranging from 6 to 10 metres. Routes include a twister tower, ice wall, speed climb, tree trunks and cargo nets. No prior experience is needed and the minimum age is 4. The foyer location creates genuine space limitations: spectator room is restricted, the briefing area is cramped, and busy sessions generate long waits for routes.
