1 / 3Thamesmere Leisure Centre
📍 London, Greater London
Thamesmere Leisure Centre offers swimming lessons for children in both small and large pools, with toddler-friendly facilities and pram access. Pool water is kept warm. Cleanliness and membership pricing have drawn mixed feedback.
We were really impressed with our experience here. All the staff we came in contact with were polite and helpful. We were the only family in the pool despite it being half term, the water was lovely and warm and changing rooms spotless!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families enrolling children in regular swimming lessons rather than casual drop-in visits. Warm pool water suits younger children well. Pay-as-you-go visits are a more flexible option than long-term memberships given the fee structure and reported cancellation difficulties. Confirm weekend session availability before travelling.

“Like this swimming pool as ovaerall is clean and tidy. Toilets require more attention as they smell a bit. Great choice of swimming classes for kids in both small and big pool.”

“Don’t bother signing up! They’ll hike up the price on your debit card without telling you, and when you try to cancel, they make you rejoin at a different rate with tons of confusing membership options. The staff aren’t much help either. Even with the NHS discount, it’s £47 a month—which is ridiculous considering the machines are old, they close at 4 PM on weekends, and sometimes shut down during the week for random “fixes.” You can find way better gyms for half the price.”

“I was appalled by this sports centre. A dirty, scruffy place that needs regular cleaning, especially the pool. The staff are dead lazy.”
