My son loved the hidden village. He really enjoyed the different role play areas and especially the vehicles. The cafe was a lovely addition:)

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 2-10 who want creative, imaginative play in a calm setting without the noise of typical soft play. The role-play format suits children who engage deeply with pretend scenarios, and parents note it works well even for children aged 8-10 who might seem too old.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Book timed slots in advance — entry is controlled and spaces are sparse
Bring a fold-down pram only; larger buggies will not fit in the storage cubbies
🎟️A tidy-up bell rings five minutes before session end — kids are encouraged to help
🚗Order food and drinks via the touchscreen at the café counter

Had our first visit to The Hidden Village this morning with my 2.5yr-old twins and we had a lovely time. Staff member was really welcoming and friendly, and the vibe amongst the other parents and kids was friendly too. We were the 9-10:30 slot on Saturday morning and it felt like a good amount of kids, it was busy but my toddler girls were always able to find something or one of the shops to play in. Love the layout and that you'd be able to see most of the play area from the tables area. There's a touch screen on the counter to order food and drink from, but my girls wanted me with them most of the time today since it was their first visit so we didn't get time to eat. Nice shelving and "cubbie" area along the wall as you enter, to store any extra bags, coats and prams (definitely need to bring a fold-down pram, as the website advises – our double OutNAbout slotted under the shelves flat against the wall, anything larger wouldn't have or would have had to go in sideways.) The outside door is kept locked which I appreciated and customers need to buzz on the keypad to gain entry. There's no entry before the start of your session time as they clean up and make sure everything is nicely set up again for the next group. I appreciated that at 5mins before the end of our session the staff ring a little bell and announce that it's "tidy up time", I think this helps teach the kids a bit of responsibility. Everyone helped out wjth returning items to the correct shops and then the staff sorted the specific items within the shops after everyone had finished. There are 2 toilets. There was plenty of space in each one for me and my girls to fit in together at once. One has a baby changing table, both toilets have a little step and an add-on toilet seat for small bums. The steps are just the standard small ones so if you need your little one/ young toddler to be sitting in a proper "knees at right angle" position on the loo then maybe bring your own potty along. We were of course last to leave because when you're single-parenting twins it takes ages to get all three of us sorted and dressed to leave. It was about 10:45 by the time we actually left, and we were made to feel very comfortable and not rushed at all in any way, which we are very grateful for. :) We'll definitely be returning in the future and would recommend.

We celebrated my son’s fourth birthday at Hidden Village Leeds today, and I was not sure if all of my guests would enjoy it but to my surprise even my 10 years old daughter and a few of her friends who were about 8 or 9 years old loved this place. Amy with another colleague helped us during the party and they were super friendly and caring, looking after everyone to their best. Playing area was nice and clean. I strongly recommend this place for birthday parties

We had our first visit to The Hidden Village with my 8 year old and it was brilliant! I wasn’t sure if he might be a bit old for it, but he had the best time. He loved the role play, made friends, and didn’t stop smiling. It’s such a nice change from the usual play centres. The location is perfect too, just a short walk from the station, so the trip from Bradford was well worth it. Highly recommend!
