1 / 2The Lanes
📍 South West
The Lanes offers five stringless bowling lanes, three boutique karaoke rooms, pool, table football, and a covered heated outdoor courtyard in central Bristol. No rush policy — your booked time is yours.
Booked for 1 hour today and it was excellent, from first check staff where helpful and a good choice of beers behind the bar . Unlike the major chains there was no rush which made for a very enjoyable hour.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with older children and teens who want to combine bowling with karaoke or pool in a relaxed setting. The no-rush atmosphere makes it a rare venue where a booked hour genuinely feels like an hour.

“Great staff so helpful! Lovely selection of drinks, so much to do only did the karaoke but will definitely be back to bowl. Helped me find my bag the day after since I left it and the staff were so helpful”

“Great venue, one of my faves in Bristol. You can listen to music, play pool, or bowling, or just chat, without any of these impeding on each other.”

“I went to The Lanes last night for the Buffy Ball event, and while the theme and the show itself were genuinely great, the overall venue experience left a lot to be desired. The performance was fun and well put together, but it was almost impossible to actually see what was happening on stage. There were only two chairs to stand on, and unless you were lucky enough to get one, your view was mostly blocked. A lot of people ended up trying to stand or shuffle around, and that created another issue—constant pushing and squeezing past from the front door to the back of the room during the show, which got pretty irritating. The projector was on, but the lighting in the room washed it out so much that it was hard to make out what was being shown. With a bit more control over lighting, it could have added a lot more to the event. Unfortunately, the toilets were the biggest downside. The smell of urine started at the stairway and continued all the way down to the bathroom itself. Two of the cubicles didn’t even have toilet seats, one corner toilet had a flickering light, and there was a stray loo roll just sitting on top of a cubicle. It didn’t feel clean or maintained at all, which really took away from the night. On a positive note, the food being carried around looked great—fresh, appealing, and definitely one of the better aspects of the venue. Overall, The Lanes puts on creative, enjoyable events, and the entertainment side of the night delivered. But the viewing setup, crowd flow, and especially the state of the toilets could use serious improvement. With some adjustments, it could easily be a fantastic place for themed nights like this”

Overview
The Lanes in central Bristol combines five stringless bowling lanes with three private karaoke rooms, pool tables, table football, and a covered heated outdoor courtyard. Ray's Pizza and a full bar operate on-site. The venue hosts live music events and club nights alongside regular family-accessible sessions. Staff are notably unhurried — no pressure to vacate lanes early. Karaoke rooms are on an upper floor with sparse staff access for drink orders.
