Tommy Tumble Town
📍 Bacup, North West
Indoor role-play centre in Bacup with 13+ themed zones including fire station, hospital, mechanics garage, vets, and salon. Dedicated baby area for under-12-months. Structured sessions end with story time.
What an amazing find :) We drove an hour and 15 mins from Blackpool to try this place and we were not disappointed! The kids loved it and us grown ups had a lovely hot brew and some tasty, fresh food, which was all priced really well! (Can often cost us a fortune with 6 little ones). With an autistic toddler, it can be difficult to find somewhere she's willing to play (especially independently) but here she is off in her own little world and thoroughly enjoying everything to offer. It's safe to say we will definitely come back and would recommend this to anyone with younger children (ours are 2, 3, 4 and 7 and all of them loved it).
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 1–7 who enjoy imaginative, independent role-play. The wide variety of themed rooms sustains attention across long visits. Particularly well-suited to children who thrive with sensory-light, self-directed play. Families travelling from Blackpool or beyond rate the drive worthwhile.

“What an anazing place for children to be themselves and play in role play. Attended today 13/12 with our youngest and eldest grandchildren 5 and 1. They both enjoyed themselves thoroughly. The time for play was long enough, and the story time at the end was a perfect finish to the session. We plan on going again with our other 2 grandchildren too. Please go and try it out. Check the large sign out for where they are situated down the ramp and on the right. Thank you Charlie for the great session.”

“Went with my two (age 4 and 7) and it was completely brilliant; so many role-play rooms to explore (fire station, beauty salon and construction were our favourites). It's a great space for children (and their grown ups) to play. Oh, and the cookies at the cafe are incredible! We had a ball and will be back very soon. Well worth travelling for - even in the M62 traffic!”

“I took my daughter to Tommy Tumble Town this morning. Dan was kind and welcoming and we had a lovely time. There was plenty to do and the food and different activities and spaces for the children were great. Thank you so much ☺️”
