Went to Victoria Park yesterday with my boyfriend for our anniversary and we came across this boat rental. The two gentlemen there were so accommodating and lovely. The peddle boat was so fun to do but what I loved most was the guys showing us how to feed the ducks and pigeons afterwards. They made the whole experience really special, and we could tell that they loved what they were doing. It’s a huge bonus that the money goes to a good cause as well. Thank you both so much, you made our day very special. Would highly recommend!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 2 and up who want an unhurried water activity in a park setting without needing to travel far into central London. The shallow lake, provided life jackets, and stable pedal boats make it accessible for young children. Staff are consistently praised for friendliness and going beyond the basic hire experience.

β€œWe had a great half an hour on one of the row boats over the weekend. Good value for money. They have lifejackets for small kids (the littlest rowing companion was 2 years old). All 4 staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend.”

β€œDuring the covid-19 period, they were taking telephone bookings only so when walking past the place looks closed as they weren't taking walk-ons or allowing queues. We booked around 12pm and had plenty of open slots in the afternoon on a sunny Saturday. The gentleman was very helpful and patient on the phone and was happy to give us all the information we asked as we were concerned about taking children and wanted to know how safe it was and what measures were in place etc. Life vests are provided for all kids 10 below and adults and older kids we were told don't need one as the majority of the west lake where boats have access is shallow standing height. When we got there one of the male staff helped us on the boat and kept it secure while we boarded and guided us where to sit to strategically balance the boat. His manner was knowledgeable and professional. The boating experience made for a beautiful and memorable day out with the family. The rowing boats accommodate up to 2 adults and 3 children and cost Β£12 per 30 minutes (in September 2020). The lake is very nice with a fountain in the centre (which creates a lovely rainbow on sunny days!) and lots of wildlife to see while maneuvering around. You also get to see the Chinese Padoga from a different angle from the water. We only booked 30 mins but the time flew by so quick! Would probably get an hour next time. I didn't give full 5 stars because the boat floor and interior was very sooty/dirty (not the seats though which were clean, but below) and it could've been made more presentable.”
