1 / 2Wavelengths Leisure Centre
π London, Greater London
Wavelengths offers a main pool, toddler pool, leisure pool, soft play, sauna, steam room and gym. Poolside hoist and wheelchair access included. Book sessions online. Changing room hygiene is a recurring complaint.
Incredible amneity in the area. Sure, it's not perfect but there's a large pool for lengths, separate toddler and fun pools. Sauna, steam room. Great soft play. Easy to book it all online. I think most of the negative reviews complaining about cleanliness would be more appropriate for Β£100+/month gyms, which Wavelengths just is not. I've not noticed the soft play being dirty, nor the pools themselves.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for local families who want a one-stop leisure facility covering swimming for all ages plus soft play and sauna in one visit. Families who need spotless changing facilities should weigh the recurring hygiene feedback before committing. Older children who can use the main pool independently get the most from the range on offer.

βWe have been a couple of times to the pool and have had mixed experiences. The water is often cold, as it was last week. This is very off-putting, especially if you have small children. The hygiene could also be improved: there is a urine smell in the changing area and there are often flies. That said, it is one of the better public pools in the area (relatively speaking).β

βThe changing rooms had a strong, unpleasant smell, like a urinal, and the showers were cold, which made it tough to enjoy my time. Some of the staff seemed uninterested and not very helpful, with body language that came across as unwelcoming. It feels like a bit of customer service training is needed. Overall, thereβs potential here, but improvements in cleanliness and staff attitude are definitely needed. The centre needs an unexpected hygiene inspection for the health and safety of customers. Someone needs to be responsible for all the above. Yes itβs a good facility for the community well equipped and all, itβs just the hygiene is the problem.β

βThey completely blocked out the only feature that makes the soft play area inviting and pleasant for children! What used to be a nice light filled space is now a dark and dingy cave. Itβs already limited in terms of local choices for soft play areas in winter and good party venues. This is all because the general manager had found this to be the best solution for privacy and to make the space feel brighter and livelier! Blocking out the entire window and all source of natural light, so a translucent film is not enough privacy, they had the film on both sides of the window, front and back! Absolutely disappointing!β
