1 / 2Yorkshire Wildlife Park
đ Doncaster, Merseyside
Yorkshire Wildlife Park spans 150 acres with 15 themed lands, polar bear habitat, Prides of Yorkshire lion enclosure, Pangea dinosaur zone, and six play areas. Download the app for feeding time schedules.
Visited on a very cold and blustery February half term holiday. Quite a lot of the animals were hidden away in their enclosures, but we still saw lots - polar bears, lions , tigers, giraffes, wolves and a cheetah. The park is well maintained & the animals look well kept with plenty of space to roam around. There were several picnic areas & cafes dotted about. Our 2 year old grandson was very impressed by the animatronic dinosaurs on th way out too.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for animal-loving families with children aged 2 and up who can handle extended outdoor walking â expect to cover more than six kilometres to see every zone. Polar bear viewing from elevated platforms is a highlight available at any age. Toddlers enjoy the Pangea dinosaur section when live animals are sheltering.

âA great day out. The park is massive, with loads to see and do. If you download the app you can view the map, search for where you want to go and get directions there, as well as all the info about the talks or feeding times happening on the day. It is a real privilege to be able to see polar bears, and other endangered and unusual residents. There is also a large section with lots of animatronic dinosaurs who roar (and even one that sprays water) when you are near. The cafes are nice and the food prices arent too bad. Keepers are friendly and talks are interesting and interactive. Was lucky enough to be visiting for the red panda experience which was fantastic. Got to ask lots of questions and learn about them while being up close at feeding time. There is also a hotel on site and a selection of shops including obligatory gift shop with cuddly versions of everything. There is lots of parking, youll do lots of walking, and in the winter maybe a bit more as the snack kiosks and some of the toilets are closed. The app is good to find where the next available places are. I walked over 6 miles around the park and still didnt see everything!â

âAmazing place with some incredible enclosures that really give animals choice to act however they want. Lots of animals had lots of enrichment and it was amazing to see the Hyena cubs out and about even with a crowd watching. Mum hyena didn't mind the crowds at all and its always great to walk around. The park is incredibly well maintained and all of the animals look wonderfully healthy! The keepers and the maintenance staff should be VERY proud of the space they work as you can see how much effort is put in to make sure these animals are able to have e fulfilled livesâ

âWhat a great experience! This place is immaculate and all the animals are very well looked after. We spoke with a few staff on site asking questions who were all very happy to help with lots of knowledge! Our favourite was definitely the Polar bears. We came after visiting the area for the weekend so travelled quite far but will definitely return.â
