1 / 2Aldgate City Bouldering
📍 London, Greater London
State-of-the-art bouldering gym two minutes from Aldgate station with 100+ problems from beginner to V9, a Kilter Board, traverse wall, after-school clubs for ages 4–15, and birthday parties for ages 6+.
Great place to climb. Been Climbing here for several months now, and I love it. Would definitely recommend this place for both new and experienced climbers, one of my top 5 places to climb in London. Great location, only 2 min walk from Aldgate station, only 10min walk from Liverpool Street station and bus stop right outside. Location recently expanded and opened a new wall for climbers this week (Jan 2025), which is great. Staff are very friendly and so are all the other climbers, place is very clean and I have to say, has one of the biggest warm up/gym areas I've seen for a place for bouldering, has everything you need and more. It is a little pricey but when you consider the location it is totally understandable but if you are looking for a bargain then I would recommend off peak and new bargain price on Sundays (5pm-10pm) for £7.50 (newly launched in 2025, remember offer could potentially change by the time you read this), in order to get the amazingly low price you need to go to the citybouldering site and pre-book your Climbing session, if you don't pre-book before arrival you will end up paying full price. Bargain prices are also available in stratford (9am-3pm) on Wednesdays and White City (9am-3pm) on Tuesdays. Time restrictions apply to Bargain Prices so check out the site for confirmation and updated prices/times
🏆 Family Action Verdict
One of London's most welcoming first-climbing venues — staff walk complete beginners through every aspect of bouldering in detail before they touch the wall. Children aged 8 and up do best, and the after-school programme accommodates ages 4 and over. The central location and strong public transport links make it easy to fold into a London day out.

“Climbing for 2 years now, have been to many different places across the UK but none as friendly and welcoming as City Bouldering. My friend who is new to climbing was shown in detail of the complexity of bouldering but as a whole it was nothing to be afraid or anxious of. Staff are very open to beginners and intermediate new comers. Spaces within the venue are one of the cleanest I have seen as of yet”

“This was my first time trying indoor climbing, and I absolutely loved it. Great premises, as well as the onboarding gate process and guidance from the staff, were brilliant.”
