My local climbing gym and a lovely place to spend time in. The climbing area is extremely spacious and there are always new creative routes that utilise the wall space, which is a rarity in London gyms. The studio is also lovely and calming, having done a few yoga classes along with my membership. They do have events often, limiting opening hours, and sometimes leaving some sections bare but this personally does not affect my climbing. Entry and membership is a little pricey, but the facilities make a good case for the price. I really like the ability to bring a friend in for free if it's their first time once a month, which they just started doing. Would be awesome if I could bring in 2 new people a month :)

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Strong choice for active families with children aged 2 and up. The Wild gives toddlers and under-10s a genuinely safe, age-appropriate climbing environment away from adult routes. First visits are free, making it easy to test with reluctant or nervous children before committing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Brilliant Place for a Kids’ Birthday! We celebrated my daughter’s birthday at Substation Brixton and had such a great experience. The team were really helpful and accommodating — they let us set everything up just how we wanted, and nothing was too much trouble. The space worked perfectly for the kids; they had loads of fun, and the climbing kept them entertained the whole time. The café was also a lovely bonus — great coffee and snacks for the adults while the children played. It’s such a friendly, well-run place with a great atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, stress-free venue for a kids’ party or family day out.

The climbing spaces are great, very spacious and lots of room and variety to climbs even at it's busiest. Rather than sticking to V grades they do their own routes from 1 (easiest) to 6/7 (comp). Great area for pool tables and cafe for relaxing, and a decent gym upstairs for further training. The staff are excellent and very friendly, and it's a great atmosphere. Refurb taking place for facilities is overdue so looking forward to seeing improvements to gents changing facilities soon.

Brilliant family friendly day out!!!! Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We were slightly late to our booking but they staff understood and were more than happy for us to stay for the booking time. We went for my son's 5th birthday and they made it nice for him by giving out stickers. My two year old had so much fun and was able to climb some of it independently! Will definitely come back here again!
