1 / 3Beale Wildlife Park
π Reading, Greater London
Berkshire's only wildlife park with lemur and capybara feeding experiences, a zoo train, outdoor splash pool, soft play, and extensive riverside gardens. Junior keeper sessions and birthday parties available.
Wonderful place! Stroller friendly, have kids entertainment for all seasons. Nice selection of animals. Restaurant menu is very limited unfortunately, would be nice to have proper meal options besides sausages and chips or chicken strips and chips.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children of all ages who want animal welfare-focused encounters in beautiful grounds. The bookable lemur and capybara feeding sessions are the standout experiences. Babies and toddlers are well catered for with pram-friendly paths and the splash pool. Teenagers enjoy the gardens and keeper conversations.

βVisited in the week between Christmas and New Years, expected it to be very busy but it wasn't too bad. The gardens were all very well maintained and beautiful to walk around, with some very funny Christmas decorations! The animals were all active and (without having much understanding) seemed happy in good enclosures. There were more animals than it stated on the map and website, and it was an incredible day out. To make it even better, I pre-booked and paid the extra to feed the Capybara's, Gary and Sharon were adorable, it was a lot of fun, and the keeper (whose name I can't remember) gave us a lot of great facts and made it an experience we will never forget.β

βWe chose Beale park for our babyβs first proper day out as it was only 20 minutes away and oh my gosh! What a gem! Itβs so well laid out, the enclosures are fantastic, you can see the thought and care put into designing them for the animals best interests and everyone is well taken care of. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, but Iβd definitely love to give recognition to the train driver who was amazing with all of the children and parents. It was evident he loved working there which was so nice to see and really topped off the experience! Youβll definitely be seeing us again!β

βFantastic day out with my teenage son. The park was really quiet and lovely to walk around. We did the Feed the Ring Tailed Lemurs experience which was great. The young man who took the experience was fantastic and really knew his stuff. We bumped into him again later when he was feeding the otters and he took the time to tell us about them and answer our questions a real asset to the park. Also, had a lovely lunch in the cafe watched by the peacock trying to get in the door. We will definitely be back.β

Overview
Beale Wildlife Park spans riverside gardens with thoughtfully designed enclosures housing ring-tailed lemurs, capybaras, sloths, otters, and more. Bookable feeding experiences for lemurs and capybaras deliver close-up encounters led by knowledgeable keepers. Howard the engine runs zoo train rides throughout the day. A splash pool and soft play area serve younger children. The restaurant menu is sparse to sausages, chips, and chicken strips β bring a packed lunch for a more varied meal.
