π Blackley, North West
80-acre park in Blackley with scenic lake, walking paths ranging from flat pram-friendly routes to steep hill sections, and onsite cafe. Herons, swans, turtles and ducks spotted regularly around the water.
I have been going to the clough for almost 50 years. It is a beautiful park and has lovely scenery. Although it is set in the middle of Blackley, it is a hidden gem. Great for long strolls or a good run, it has long paths but plenty if hills if you fancy a challenge. The lake is a great place to see some wildlife- herons, turtles, ducks, geese and swans; the lakeside cafe offers a comforting menu and the staff are very friendly - dogs welcome! Weβll worth a visit!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families who enjoy nature walks with wildlife spotting built in. Toddlers and pushchair users stick to the flat lakeside loop; older children and adults tackle the hills. The cafe makes longer visits comfortable. Wildlife spotters will want cameras β herons, turtles, and geese appear regularly.

βA cracking little walk out with grandaughter. We both enjoyed walking around the ponds, looking for wildlife. Shame we didn't have our cameras with us. Some very unexpected wildlife spotted, resulting in another visit being planned. But seriously paying it forward to the cafe as they really made her trip out with a special treat. ;) #hiking #cycling #running #fishing #playarea #photography #painting and loads more.β

βA Spooky Little Ghost Walk Was Definitely Needed Here Due To The Folklore And It's History. This Area Has Some Of The Most Ancient Woodland And A Great Tale Of A Boggart Who Apparently Pushed Out A Family I'm This Area . This Area Is Quite Big And Really Popular In The Day But When Darkness Falls Your Unlikely To See Anyone Here . This Location Has A Cafe And Many Different Trials For A Little Walk Or An Exploreβ

βReally nice place to get out for some fresh air and enjoy nature. There are plenty of walking paths to explore and lots of green space, which makes it great for a relaxed walk or just spending some time outdoors. The area feels peaceful and well looked after, and itβs a good spot for families, dog walkers, or anyone wanting a break from the busy cityβ

Overview
Boggart Hole Clough spans ancient woodland with a central lake and a network of paths suited to varying fitness levels. Flat lakeside routes work for pushchairs; hillier sections challenge older kids. The park carries genuine folklore β the Boggart legend gives it a distinct identity beyond a typical green space.
