Chester Zoo spans 130 acres with 30,000+ animals from 520 species, including the UK's largest tropical biodome, a lazy river boat ride, five adventure playgrounds, and walkthrough lemur enclosure.
It’s a magical zoo, so much to see but not enough time to see it all. All the animals are in very large enclosures, well maintained and looked after. There are dozens of places to eat and drink from, dozens of toilets across the zoo and places to sit. It was not very busy today despite the £1 entry offer, no queue for the Lazy River or to enter. We look forward to coming here again soon.

“I booked penguins feeding gift for partner birthday gift. Its fab. Staff is polite, friendly, chatting about zoo, life experience with animals. We will come back for bat feeding. This place is so massive and need stay there for allday. We are not aware that they have BSL tour every end the month. This is wow for Deaf access. High recommend everyone visit this place...”

“Fantastic zoo me and the wife loved it. Kids all grown up so us two went to the zoo 🤣 managed to see everything in a day 10 till 4pm thats with stopping and having food and sneaky pint at there beautiful bar and restaurant. Good day out”

“One of the best zoos in the UK, plenty of animals to see and nice to see enclosures that are suitable for the animals. The food and shop are reasonably priced. Spend a full day here easily and different every time”

Five adventure playgrounds are spread across the site. Free parking and full pram access throughout. BSL tours run at the end of each month. Booking in advance and arriving early are consistently recommended.
