As a therapeutic social worker, I have had the privilege of volunteering at this incredible riding school on several occasions. The environment is not only safe and nurturing but also deeply therapeutic, offering opportunities for growth, confidence, and emotional regulation through equestrian activities. Richard, the instructor, has such heart evidenced through his patience and skill with both horses and children is extraordinary. He understands the unique needs of children with disabilities and emotional challenges, creating tailored experiences that foster trust and empowerment. Richardβs ethosβthat equestrian activity can be a powerful therapeutic toolβis evident in every interaction. His dedication to this vocation is inspiring and unwavering. On a personal note, Richard is the godfather to my son, who has autism, and I have witnessed firsthand how his compassionate approach has helped my son thrive. βI canβt recommend Chigwell Riding Trust enough, especially the incredible Deborah. Sheβs not only a fantastic teacher - patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging - but also one of the kindest people you could meet. She has a way of making everyone feel comfortable and confident, whether itβs your first time riding or youβve been coming for years! I also had the chance to volunteer and was made to feel so welcome from the very start. It opened my eyes to just how vital the Trust is for children with special needs. The horses truly aid their development, confidence, and joy in such a powerful way. The atmosphere is uplifting, and Deborahβs dedication makes the experience even more meaningful.β

βThis is an excellent establishment. All staff are fantastic at what they do. I have helped with lessons run by Richard, Deborah, Emma and can safely say they are all brilliant at what they do, focusing on safety, security of vulnerable children whilst also making the lessons fun and engaging. I am also particularly impressed with how the welfare of all horses is a top priority. Love this place ππΌ β€οΈβ

βExcellent for children with special needs and adults with disabilities. Ample parking, good rates and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff helps to tick all the boxes. Only downside is the waiting list which can take up to three years due to demand. This is a voluntary organisation so you need to contribute by paying on time and chipping in to help other users. You will not be disappointed.β
