What a great park! Such a variety of different spaces, it has a good kids play area, skate park, basketball court, tennis courts (if a little basic), wide open parkland area, wooded areas, plenty of benches and bins too. Beautifully kept and loads of community activities going on here as well. Not sure what's going on with 'The shed' cafe, seems closed down at the moment, but hopefully will reopen soon.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

A strong all-round community park for families with children of any age. The range of spaces β€” open grassland, wooded sections, skate park, and playground β€” means different family members can spread out and do their own thing. Forest school birthday parties are an unusual and genuinely engaging option for children aged 4 to 10.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Check the local notice board or park website for free weekly activities including yoga and Zumba
⏰Forest school birthday parties must be booked through the Friends of Cotteridge Park group
🎟️The Shed community facility has variable opening hours β€” do not rely on it for refreshments
πŸš—A small car park exists and fills quickly on weekends β€” arriving on foot or by bike is easier

β€œA little gem of a park that I’ve only recently discovered, despite living in the area for quite some time. Being used by lots of different people and the local notice board is full of things taking place there/in the area. The Shed was closed by 4pm whilst we were there on a Monday, would be interested to see what it offers when open. Will definitely revisit now I know this lovely space is there!”

β€œPros: large space, well maintained, large children’s park, some sort of community club building (I didn’t enter,) skate park, basketball/tennis courts, benches, picnic benches literally everything a park needs (and more) + loads of free activities through the week such as strolls, Zumba, yoga and chess! Cons: skate park is small (not a real con I really had to think of something)”

β€œSuch a lovely local park which became even more of a haven in lockdown. Great amount of space and different sections to look at while walking. The hut (serving tea, coffee and ice cream) when up and running, is a great addition and the playground is a good size too.”
