I can’t say enough wonderful things about Julie and Susan and the incredible support they gave me and my daughter. We had extended the 10-minute grace period, and I fully expected that we might have to reschedule even though we had arrived 15 minutes late. Usually my daughters mum brings her due to it being closer to her but Julie and Susan went above and beyond to help squeeze my daughters into the next swimming class without making us feel like we had caused an inconvenience. Their kindness, patience, and willingness to problem-solve on the spot truly stood out. They handled everything with professionalism and warmth, making what could have been a stressful situation feel easy and positive. My daughter was looking forward to swim as we had already made the journey from deep east London. It’s rare to find staff members who tend to go beyond the necessary means of help. Julie and Susan exemplify outstanding customer service, and i am incredibly grateful for their flexibility and dedication. Thank you both for turning a potentially disappointing day into a great experience!

I have been a member for just over a year. After suffering some depression I decided to take up swimming. It has really helped and I now feel fantastic. Crook Log is my happy place! But its not only the swimming, the staff are absolutely amazing. From the lovely ladies on reception through the the life guards and everyone else. The reception staff are so helpful. Whether you phone with a query or face to face, they cannot do enough for you. And always have friendly faces when you walk in, what ever the time day. The lifeguards are lovely too. They are always busy working hard but always have a smile and a hello. It makes all the difference. Being a member of Crook Log is great. You feel part of a community as everyone is so friendly including members. I would reccommend to anyone.

Amazing centre - friendly staff, extensive selection of modern gym equipment, very clean facilities and good parking. Vibe in some gyms can be intimidating, but not here - I'm a noob and still felt welcome. Highly recommended.

I had an overall positive experience swimming here on a weekday afternoon. The pool area is clean, the staff are friendly, and the facilities are generally well maintained. It’s a popular centre and you can see why. However, a few things could be improved. In the “lane swimming” section there are no lane dividers, which means many swimmers end up zig‑zagging across the space. This makes it difficult for those who want to swim at a steady pace, and even another swimmer next to me mentioned her frustration about the lack of structure. Adding proper lane ropes would make a big difference. The changing‑room setup also has some challenges. There’s no clear system for handling outdoor shoes. If you leave them in the entrance area, the space becomes crowded, and it’s awkward to dry your feet and put your shoes back on while managing bags. In Hungary, for example, at the municipal pool in Tököl, guests first enter a separate shoe‑storage room with individual compartments — a very hygienic and practical solution, though of course many other approaches could work here too. The pool can also feel a bit overcrowded at busy times. I don’t think this centre needs to compete with water parks or leisure spas; focusing on a smooth, well‑organised swimming experience would be more than enough. Despite these issues, it’s still a good facility — hence the four stars. With a few adjustments, it could easily become excellent.
