π Scotland
Historic 25-yard Victorian pool operating since 1897, with sauna, gym, pool fitness classes, and family swimming sessions. Booking required for most activities. Cashless payments only.
Honestly this pool is a hidden gem in the middle of Edinburgh tucked conveniently behind Haymarket Station. I went at 9am on Sunday morning and was surprised at how busy it was. The group of older gents in the early morning queue were super friendly and jolly and I had a nice laugh with one of them about the lockers and someone stealing his shoes (kids, joking). The pool itself is clean and bright and the space is lovely. On poolside changing which is a nod to the victorian baths. Poolside was really clean. Five lanes catering for different speeds. Let me use my finger paddles which was cool. Showers fine on poolside. The other swimmers were lovely, the lifeguard waved goodbye to me when I left. Iβve rarely been in a nicer friendlier environment. The ONLY downside was the steps to get into the pool were really odd and wouldnβt fit someone with not great mobility to get in and out. There was a brilliant cafe near by for my post swim breakfast. Iβll definitely be back when I next visit Edinburgh. Wonderful.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families who can visit during designated weekend family sessions. The warm, clean water and genuinely helpful staff create a relaxed environment for children new to swimming. Working parents with evening-only availability will find the timetable challenging β most family sessions are daytime focused.

βAbsolutely delightful! The stuff was very friendly and helpful from the receptionist to the lifeguards. Fully functional and clean amenities. All temperatures everywhere were very appropriate for kids too. Very accessible and useful. I loved the generous amount of time allocated for family swimming on the Saturday we went. I am very pleased with the Dalry swimming centre and will recommend it to anyone interested hands down!! ββββββ

βThe timetable seems best suit retired persons and kids or someone does not work. I worked till late, not normal 5pm and I hardly get the chance to use the facility. It is hard to find car parking. Staffs are nice Ιut not suitable for working professional. The pool water gets very muggy and warm at night. Best place for minorities groups as they allow to do anything they wany such as allow to take whole lane for their kids to play around when it is lane swimming only while other lanes are so busy. They let's your kids go beyond the point when your kids in armbands and let's you wear your shoes when you suppose to leave them outside in the stairs. Different rules for non English speakingβ
