Spirits light, birds sing, flowers spring, angels dance. Never stood in dog poo here. Amazing right? Saw a Goldcrest chirp away the other day. Won the lottery on a bench. Β£5 bonanza. Someone thwacked a tennis ball so cleanly as I went past one morning. Dogs look happier here. Grass glistens. There is that old abandoned β€˜sitting room’ where some poor old folks have moved in. Hope they’re alright. They should bring back the bandstand. Fill up the pool again. Reckon roasted chestnuts would taste great here. No wonder they built a motorway at the bottom of the park. They must have wanted people to see it everyday. Civic pride. Visit the duck ponds and marvel at how great ducks actually are. Watch a swan take off. It’s got the saddest looking swings at the bottom end, must be a high end modern art piece. Gonna try and grow a moustache here. Reckon it would twirl at the edges. Shooting stars pause here as they pass overhead. Donald Trump keeps talking about owing it, he can jog on. In fact, the exact mile loop around the place would do him the world of good. Go. Enjoy life. Say hello. Roll down the hill laughing and chortling

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families who want proper outdoor time rather than a supervised activity. The playground covers younger children; older kids and adults enjoy the river and lake circuits. Summer visits reward with full greenery and wildlife at its most active. The park is large enough that groups spread out naturally.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Allow at least 80 minutes for the full river and lake circuit
⏰The sandpit playground area suits toddlers and younger children well
🎟️Look out for the weekly parkrun if your group enjoys a timed 5k
πŸš—Snuff Mills and Oldbury Common extend the route significantly for keen walkers

β€œMy experience was absolutely unique. I saw it through my eyes, with my thoughts, emotions and at that particular part of time. I'm not sure if it would relate or even help or be of interest. It will also be difficult to explain my experience to someone, who I don't even comprehend how they experience anything. If a vague description would be ok. Then, it's a nice park. I'm not sure what rep it has. But I have always enjoyed it. Never had a problem. There are people who have fallen into hard times. Remember, they are not bad people. Try saying hello, ask them something. It's hard enough to be on hard times . The isolation attached and stigma is , maybe harder. Who knows? However, there are bad people everywhere of all sorts. So, whilst you are scared of desperate people. Please keep an eye for the normal looking person. Great place! I'll go again”

β€œBeautiful place with many paths and so many wild places. The walk along the river took us 80 minutes. I can only imagine how Beautiful it looks like in summer. There are ducks and a pond and a lot of wildlife. There's also a playground for kids and from what I heard there's a park run.”

β€œIt's a lovely place to walk and relax, or read a book, people watch and sun yourself. There is a lake with wildlife before the park and a lovely walk that takes in snuff mill and Oldbury common.”
