A truly wonderful museum paying homage to such an iconic place where the memory of EPI 'back in the day' lives on. Great to see it supported by the legendary Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards. Really enthusiastic staff with a wealth of knowledge and passion keeping the memories alive. Great photos and opportunity to buy some very reasonably priced EPI merchandise. Free parking by the church on a Sunday (check on the day tho), 2 minutes walk to the well equipped high street and a few minutes walk to EPI itself. A great visit, thank you. An inspiring trip for our 14 yr old aspiring musician son.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with teenagers who have a genuine interest in 1960s British rock and jazz. The conversational, tour-led format rewards visitors who come with questions β€” curators respond with first-hand knowledge and personal stories. Young children with no existing interest in music history will find the content beyond them.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Free disabled parking is available in the car park opposite; street parking by the church on Sundays is an option β€” confirm on the day
⏰Complimentary tea is served β€” the curators expect a relaxed, conversational visit
🎟️Combine with a walk to Eel Pie Island itself and the Twickenham riverside
πŸš—Merchandise is available for music fans at reasonable prices

β€œThis is a fantastic museum telling the story of one of London's, historically significant, music venues. On my visit I met and talked at length to Michele Whitby (curator) and her assistant. Made to feel so welcome, lovely cuppa, and I'll definitely be back. Make a pilgrimage to this museum and the Twickenham pubs. You won't regret it!”

β€œThe most amazing collection of items illustrating the history of the island. Extremely well put together by Michelle. We also have to thank Jane for the tea. We spent a most enjoyable time looking round. Parking is very good as there’s a car park opposite. With free disabled parking.”

β€œFascinating collection of exhibits telling the curious story of Eel Pie Island. Thanks to Celia for the cup of tea and guided tour. I was interested in the music aspect - trad Jazz/60s R&B but plenty of other displays about the river, rowing and inventor Trevor Baylis.”
