1 / 2Eureka! Science + Discovery
π Wallasey, North West
Interactive science museum in Wallasey with hands-on exhibits across emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and creative development themes. Full-price ticket is an annual pass covering both Wallasey and Halifax Eureka! locations.
We drove an hour and 25 minutes to visit Eureka! and Discover in Wallasey, and it was definitely worth the trip. There is a paid car park nearby, costing around Β£3βΒ£4 for a few hours, with plenty of parking spaces. From the car park, thereβs also a lovely view over the water looking towards Liverpool One, which is a nice bonus. We initially visited Eureka! in Halifax, and for an additional Β£16 we were able to upgrade to a year/annual pass, which also gave us access to Eureka! and Discover in the Wirral. For two adults and a two-year-old, we paid Β£60 in total for annual passes covering both Eureka sites, including Halifax and the Wirral, which we felt was excellent value. When we visited Wallasey, the place was very quiet, which meant we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. The centre is extremely interactive, with lots of hands-on activities to keep children engaged. My two-year-old especially loved the infant section, which is exclusively for younger children. It includes a small slide, child-friendly projections, and soft play blocks, all in a safe and welcoming space. Overall, itβs a fantastic place for young children to explore, play, and learn, and weβd happily visit again.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers through early primary age who plan to return across the year β the annual pass format rewards repeat visits significantly. The infant section is a strong draw for babies and young toddlers.

βA really good family day out. Was sceptical at first due to the ticket price but then realised that that full price ticket is an annual pass and we can go back as many times as we like during the year. The activities for the kids were engaging and exciting. We spent nearly 5 hours there. The Burrows and the Cafe were great also. Would highly recommend.β

βYou can see lots of money was spent on this place, but honestly, not that interesting for the kids, which usually love this kind of place. You can see this place was built to hit too many ideas in one go. A camel is a horse designed by committee, and this place is camel.β
