Our grandchildren loved this place, especially the indoor area. Our youngest grandson is only 2 1/2 but his big sister (7) took him around the older area and he loved it. Outdoors was fun too, but it was a little chilly so we didn't spend as long there, the Easter treat hunt was fun though. The pricing was excellent especially the fact that parents get in for free, even though several were enjoying the play area too. :) It does say you can't bring your own food, but that didn't appear to be enforced, the cafe was reasonably priced as well though. Big recommend from us.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children under 8, particularly those with a mix of ages who benefit from dedicated zones keeping babies and toddlers separate from bigger children. The free adult entry makes it genuinely good value for grandparents and accompanying carers.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Adults enter free β€” strong value for grandparents or groups with multiple adults
⏰Outdoor areas close in winter β€” indoor soft play becomes busier during this period
🎟️Age-separated zones work well and monitor older children near the baby and toddler sections
πŸš—Sessions may be capped during busy periods β€” book ahead for weekend visits

β€œThis is a very great place to visit, we took our granddaughter to visit the play centre there as lots of activities for the smaller children. This area also as a food outlet. Its only a small charge to enter .Also on site our lots of interesting shops ect and another food out.It a very nice experience .It part of a farm so obviously there are animals. I would highly recommend a visit.”

β€œTook my 9 month old grand daughter, she loved it. I liked the different age areas which meant she could play quite happily. Didn't get refreshments as we'd eaten at the cafe, which was also very tasty, but they are available.”

β€œAttended on a sunny Saturday hoping there’d be some outdoor areas to explore too but it was closed for winter meaning the soft play was absolutely hectic. They were running 2 hour sessions to try to reduce numbers but don’t know how they could police this due to the number of attendees. I did appreciate a staff member telling older kids to get out of the 0-2 year old baby area at least 3 times but it’s very frustrating that some parents are completely careless in regards to supervising their children. My 14 month old was in the ball pit when a child around 3 or 4 years old dived in brandishing a metal spoon with the handle up! We took it off him but 5 minutes later found him on his own with a metal knife and fork clutched in his hand and looking for more cutlery on the floor of the cafe which he could easily have run back into the soft play with. There was also an older kid (around 10 in the baby area) who was encouraged to be there by his mum to supervise his younger brother but he was pelting balls around. Unfortunately these careless parents make it a stressful experience for those of us with younger children.”

Overview

Farrington's Playbarn operates three clearly separated age zones inside a large barn: a shallow ball pit for babies, a toddler section with slides and obstacles, and a full main structure with multi-lane slides, rope skywalks, and climb towers for older children up to age 12. Adults enter free. The on-site cafΓ© serves homemade food. Birthday party packages are available. The venue is part of Farrington's Farm, so additional farm attractions are nearby. Outdoor areas may close in colder months.
