1 / 2Glasgow Science Centre
π Glasgow, Central Scotland
Interactive science museum on the Clyde with three floors of hands-on exhibits, live science demonstrations, an IMAX cinema, and planetarium shows. Full-day venue with cafe and all-day parking.
Worth every pennie! Easy to find, just off the motorway and Plenty of parking for Β£3 all day. Staff were super helpful and friendly. A lovely welcome at the ticket desk. Found the staff to be very knowledgeable and on 2 occasions we were confused about an activity and from no where staff would appear and help - very impressed π Absolutely loved the science show, the young man who delivered the show was very good and had wonderful, light humour π We spent 5hrs here and still didn't get to explore everything. So much to do and a fantastic variety on offer. The place was well laid out, clean and tidy. Plenty of seats dotted around. Fantastic amount of toilet facilities, clean and tidy. They have many lockers that were not advertised anywhere we looked, but what a useful thing to have! Plenty of room for buggies and wheelchairs, their lift is huge! Hence it's called "the big lift". Fab cafe, in fact they have two! My family used the one on the ground floor, not the one by the entry. Spacious, plenty on offer, great tasting beef broth and a fair price. Honestly, you shouldn't be disappointed with this place and if you are, you need a word with yourself! Thanks to the whole team and of course our late queen πΈ β¨οΈ π π
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want a full day of hands-on learning from toddler age upward. Plan five or more hours to cover all three floors and a planetarium or IMAX session. Weekday visits are quieter and parking is very affordable for an all-day stay. Staff appear frequently to explain activities, which adds real value for younger children.

βA lovely place to visit with grown up kids. You can easily plan an entire day at GSC from 10 am onwards. This place has so much to explore and spread across 3 floors with lots of science phenomenon practically displayed to you and try as well. It greatly helps develop the scientific temperament of your child in easy and fun ways. Adults can enjoy too. Personally I would strongly recommend that to make best use of every penny you pay for the tickets here you should utilise the full time of the day for which the facility is open and thoroughly explore the 2nd and 3rd floors. If coming from exhibition centre station side it's 10-15 mins ride across the river passing by bbc scotland building. The planetarium has 30 mins shows running at 11, 2 & 4pm on different topics so chose one that you like and plan accordingly or as per your ticket try to watch all shows. The ticket section on ground floor is easy to find and can provide all details of different attractions available and ticket types and prices. Google also lists most details about GSC very accurately. We didn't find much challenge buying tickets at the ticket desk though it was weekend.β

βBrilliant day out at Glasgow Science Centre! We had such a great time, with our 6 year old daughter, thereβs loads to see and do for all ages. The interactive exhibits kept everyone entertained for hours, and itβs clear how much effort goes into keeping everything engaging and educational. The staff were friendly and really helpful, and IMAX 3D cinema was a highlight. Itβs one of those places where you can easily spend the whole day without getting bored. Definitely worth a visit if youβre in Glasgow, whether youβve got kids or youβre just a big kid yourself!β

Overview
Glasgow Science Centre spreads across three floors of interactive exhibits covering physics, biology, and technology, with live experiments staged throughout the day. The IMAX screen and planetarium require advance booking, especially at weekends. Families with a six-year-old through to adults find exhibits genuinely engaging.
