Grosvenor Picture Theatre
📍 Central Scotland
Recently renovated independent cinema with multiple screens, sofa and leather seating, family ticket pricing, and an on-site bar with food options. On-site parking available.
I haven't been here since the renovation but what a glow up it's been given! Seats are comfortable and the little lamps are a cute touch. A good take on modernising a retro cinema without losing its character. They also have a nice bar area with the option of food (we didn't use it though so can't comment on it)
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want a relaxed, unhurried cinema experience away from large multiplex chains. The sofa seating suits families with older children who can sit through a full feature comfortably. Weekend evening screenings may carry bass noise from nearby bars — choose a weekday matinee for a quieter experience with younger children.

“Stop for a quick drink, Stayed for a movie… Fantastic experience so chilled and cozy. Can’t recommend this place enough 10/10”

“Great to have a small cinema to go to with sofas and leather seats. There are a couple of screens with plenty of offers for various types of tickets including a family ticket and date night tickets. You can take drinks in with you with tables to hold your bottles and glasses. The sofa was a little less comfortable than I liked but it wouldn’t stop me from going back. The single chairs are in twos with the table either side and looked well padded.”

“Seen Hamnet here on a Saturday night. Beautiful cinema and good friendly service. The only negative is that during quieter moments in the film, you could hear the bass coming through from one of the nearby bars. Not loud but noticeable, and probably strictly a weekend issue.”
