1 / 3Headstone Manor and Museum
π Harrow, Greater London
Grade I listed medieval manor house dating from 1310, set in park grounds with a medieval moat, interactive history exhibits across three buildings, dress-up activities, and The Moat Cafe on-site.
I went to the Headstone Village Show at the Manor on the bank holiday and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was brilliant, full of great entertainment, a lively community spirit, and plenty to see and do. It was wonderful to see how the event brought Harrowβs culture together in such a fun and welcoming way. A perfect way to spend the day on a beautiful sunny day πππ«
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 5+ who want a genuinely free day out combining indoor history with outdoor space. The combination of museum, moat trail, playground, and cafe means different ages can stay engaged. Historic buildings retain the cold in winter β dress in layers and plan the cafe stop as a warm-up.

βA lovely museum with so much history and information about Harrow. I really enjoyed it and thought it was well worth the visit plus it was free to enter and theres a toilet, garden and a cafe. You can also buy a sovereign there as well.β

Overview
Headstone Manor houses Harrow's local history across the Manor House, Small Barn, and Granary Learning Centre, with dress-up activities for children and nature trails around the medieval moat. The Moat Cafe provides refreshments. Free entry and free parking throughout. The historic building runs cooler than outside, so layers are advisable in cold weather. A playground and park adjoin the site.
