This place has 2 indoor swimming pools, gym room, fitness room, cycle room, outdoor gym, softplay for kids, cafe, toilets, and changing rooms. Only members can use the facilities (pools, gym/fitness/cycle rooms). Softplay for kids can be booked in advanced or pay as you go. Outdoor gym can be used by anyone, free of charge. Car parks are free after 4.30 pm. Oneday I left a towel in the changing room after swimming, the next day I went there, and told them about it, and they let me search for the towel in the lost and found box (there were many towels in the box), but none of it was mine... so unfortunate...

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Families with young children get the most from the pool and soft play combination β€” both are accessible without a full gym membership. The outdoor gym is free for anyone. Swimming lesson quality has been inconsistent and some parents report cancelled lessons with poor rescheduling support.

β€œVery disappointing experience. I enrolled in swimming lessons for a full year and unfortunately feel that my time and money were wasted. During this period, I was not properly taught the correct swimming techniques. It was only when a replacement junior instructor stepped in during the main instructor’s holiday period, that I discovered I had been practicing incorrectly for six months. It was extremely frustrating and upsetting that my main instructor, (a female senior instructor), did not provide clear technical guidance or corrections. I expected structured teaching and constructive feedback, but this was largely missing. There also seemed to be more focus on onboarding new students rather than supporting existing ones. Classes were cancelled frequently and were rarely rescheduled. On one occasion, a private lesson was cancelled just 20 minutes before it was due to begin, which felt unprofessional and inconsiderate. When I approached reception about replacement sessions, I was repeatedly told that new classes had not yet been advertised. 8 classes were never replaced however fee was taken. Additionally, the condition of the showers and toilets was consistently poor and below the standard I would expect from a professional facility. Overall, I am very unhappy with the service I received and would not recommend these swimming lessons based on my experience.”

β€œI have been coming to this gym for a long time, and I am very disappointed. You are charging Β£45–£65 per month, but the facilities do not justify this price. Here is what the gym needs to improve: 1. Buy at least two Smith machines so members can perform squats, hip thrusts, shoulder and other exercises at the same time. 2. Add at least two more cable stations. Each cable station should have 4–5 cable pairs on the station . One cable station is not enough for the number of members. 3. Improve the cable cross area. Only two options are available, and if someone is using them, others have to wait far too long. 4. Add more adjustable benches. There are not enough during busy hours. 5. Replace the old cable grips. The rubber is worn out and does not feel safe or professional. 6. Use space more effectively. Too much space is taken up by mats. Create a proper stretching area in the studio and use the available space for more machines. 7. Invest in better equipment overall. If you are charging premium prices, the gym should provide premium-quality machines. 8. Please repair broken machines quickly. Some machines have β€œout of order” boards and remain not working for too long. This is unacceptable for a gym charging this level of membership fee. 9. At least one 2 Rowing machine 10. Two lat pull down.”

β€œI have been using Heston Pool & Gym, but honestly the equipment is very limited for serious training. There is no Smith machine and no proper leg press machine, which are basic machines in most gyms. Instead, there are too many cardio machines and not enough strength equipment. Another issue is maintenance. When machines break, there doesn’t seem to be anyone with proper knowledge to repair them quickly. Also, there is no proper system where members can suggest or request new machines. Even some trainers don’t train here themselves. Many of them go to other gyms for their own workouts, which says a lot about the equipment quality.”
