Horsforth Hall Park
đ Horsforth, Yorkshire
Large Leeds parkland with playground equipment, a Japanese garden, and extensive wooded walking paths. Free parking on-site. Community events including fun fairs, galas and junior parkrun run throughout the year.
Great Place & Well Looked After by Leeds City Council. Clean & Tidy. Plenty of Stuff for Kids in The Kids Play Area. The Little Japanese Garden is a Cute Place Walk Around. Huge Park for Walking or Running. A Big Free Parking Area is Very Handy.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want a large free green space for walking, running and community events rather than destination play equipment. The Japanese garden and autumn tree colour make it genuinely worth visiting. Bring your own refreshments and plan toilet stops before arrival â facilities are closed.

âHorsforth park is great at any time of the year but especially in Autumn with the colours on the trees. I always make a point of visiting one tree, that turns a lovely red colour at this time of year.â

âPark paths need some attention. Horsforth in Bloom and the Community Garden project do some great work to enhance the park. Lots going on with regular fun fairs and more recently galas and junior Park run. Foxes make a bit of a mess overnight but gets picked up. Lots of dogs there, owners mostly considerate and respectful. Grass is mown regularly and creditable woodland project ongoing. Sometimes in wet times there can be minor flooding. Japanese garden needs some attention. Natter Bench a lovely idea and well cared for, as are benches generally. Sunday bands sometimes at bandstand and carols at Christmas. Cricket Club has very active social side. A great park overall.â

âWe recently went on a beautiful day. The crocuses were in full bloom and people were friendly. There were plenty of benches. Unfortunately there were no public toilets due to vandalism and you wonder why anyone would do this but it didn't spoil our visit.â

Overview
Horsforth Hall Park spans extensive grounds managed by Leeds City Council, featuring a children's play area, a compact Japanese garden with a red maple that blazes in autumn, and wide paths for walking and running. Community programming includes junior parkrun, fun fairs and Sunday band performances. Free parking adjoins the main entrance. Public toilets are currently closed following vandalism. The playground shows wear and is overdue for upgrade.
