1 / 2Meanwood Park
đ Meanwood, Yorkshire
Free green space in North Leeds with woodland paths, multiple waterfalls, a well-maintained playground, and an on-site cafe. Connects to the Meanwood Valley Trail and Woodhouse Moor for longer walks.
What a beautiful park that makes you feel like you're far away from the city. They have a nice cafe open 7 days a week, serving drinks, snacks, lunches and pastry. It's pet friendly as well so you can bring your doggos for a walk. Even saw a couple of horses! The meanwood valley trail passes through so a great stop while on your walk or even the start of the trail. Can't wait to go back again soon.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want a full nature outing without leaving the Leeds city boundary. Younger children enjoy the playground and flat waterside paths; older kids gravitate to the wooded slopes and trail sections. The cafe makes it a practical half-day or full-day destination.

âHaving lived in Leeds for the past 6 years I can safely say Meanwood Park has a place in my heart. It is a lovely green oasis just a stones throw from the bustling city. It is the perfect escape into nature and is usually a brilliant place to spot some absolutely adorable doggos. Stunning all year round, from autumn, to a cold winters frost, the budding spring or blooming summer its divine.â

âA lovely open space. Plenty of open areas for children to play and a well maintained playground. The wooded area is a delight - lots of paths to explore. If you want a climbing challenge, then there are some good steep slopes to scramble up. The coffee shop near the car park on the south side is excellent.â

âAn amazing park and lots of places to walk and explore. A must visit if you live in Leeds. There is also a walkway that connects Woodhouse moor to meanwood park. It's a very peaceful and relaxing place. We had a lovely picnic in the open park too and we would recommend.â
