King George Ⅴ Park
📍 Scotland
Free city park in Edinburgh with a dedicated toddler play area, a separate older-children's playground, basketball court, table tennis, cycling paths, and The Yard — an inclusive play area for children with disabilities.
Lovely wee park - I walk my dog here every day. There are two playparks - one for toddlers and the other for older kids also has a basketball court and table tennis. Can get quite busy on nice sunny days but never overcrowded. Not as secure for dogs now they've knocked the wall down and replaced it with a rubbish fence but still a great park.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with mixed-age children who want a free city park with structured play options for different ages. The separate toddler and older-children zones make simultaneous play practical. The Yard makes it one of few Edinburgh parks actively catering for children with disabilities.

“Cozy park not far from city centre, has a hilly landscape. About facilities: has 2 playgrounds for children, rain canopy, sports area for basketball and other games, green lawns, paths for cycling, walking around or walk the dog.”

“A very pleasant place with local history written on noticeboards plus the fact that it is part of the community - "The Yard" is a play area used by children who have some disabilities. I liked the park very much.”

“Decent play park in a nice area. Super cool tunnel on the bike path. The playground itself can use some love and care. The basketball court isn't particularly well maintained and one of the hoops was missing.”
