1 / 2Lightwoods Park and House
π Bearwood, West Midlands
A 12-hectare park in Bearwood featuring a children's playground, skate park, bandstand, open grass areas, and the Grade II listed Lightwoods House. Free parking closes at . 1000 Trades restaurant inside the house.
Light Wood Park is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy nature! The park is beautifully maintained, with plenty of open green spaces, walking trails, and trees that provide a peaceful escape from the busy surroundings. Itβs perfect for families, joggers, or anyone who just wants to unwind outdoors. The childrenβs play area is well-equipped and safe, keeping the little ones entertained for hours. Thereβs also plenty of seating scattered around, making it ideal for picnics or simply sitting back and soaking in the scenery. What I really appreciate is how clean and inviting the park feels, with bins conveniently placed to encourage visitors to keep it that way. Itβs clear that a lot of care goes into its upkeep.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 4 and up who want a quality urban park with proper play infrastructure rather than just open space. The playground and skate park serve different age groups well, and the bandstand area makes a natural meeting point.

βWe had our wedding at Lightwoods and it was absolutely amazing. We couldnβt have asked for a better venue. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and truly made our day so special. The manager was especially lovely and supportive throughout. At the end of the night, the staff cleaned up all our tables and carefully packed everything away into our boxes, which made collecting everything the next day so easy and stress-free. The whole day was perfect, and the venue itself is absolutely beautiful. We couldnβt recommend Lightwoods enough. Skate park was amazing along with the gardens and staff made sure the accessible ramp was fixed before our wedding due to us having guests who required it.β

βThis park has a nice open grass area that includes both a kidsβ playground and a small skate spot. The car park is quite limited in size and closes from 6 PM, which isnβt very convenient. However, you can easily find parking in the nearby streets with very close access. Iβm not sure about the general accessibility, and I didnβt notice a designated picnic area with tables or shelters β it looks more like an open space rather than a proper picnic area.β

βIn the house, A very large selection of wines, beers and ciders. If you donβt want alcohol thereβs lovely herbal teas, so many to choose from itβs wonderful. The food is delicious but quite expensive if youβre on a budget. The staff are brilliant! Great to sit outside on a sunny day with an ice cold coffee βοΈ Thereβs meetings, workshops and other creative activities going on. Love it! #1000tradesontheparkβ
