1 / 3The Windsor Complex
π Bearwood, West Midlands
Family bowling centre in Bearwood with 10 tenpin lanes, arcade games with card-accepting coin dispensers, and an Indian restaurant with tandoori cooking. Free parking and pram access on site.
What a lovely place, food is great, booze is quick to be served, its bright and festive.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families of up to four wanting a bowling-and-arcade outing in Bearwood without travelling into the city. The combination works well for primary-age children, and the Indian kitchen adds a meal option in one location. Larger groups should confirm staffing levels before visiting, as service has struggled under volume on some evenings.

βI'd heard about this place a few months ago and was intrigued as it's a very unique set-up, mixing a few of our favourite things together. I had to check it out. My wife pre-booked the bowling alley, and we took our daughter to that. The booking confirmation said to turn up 15 minutes before our booked time. We did this, but were asked to wait around the arcades until the actual time. The place was practically empty and there was only one lane being used during this time. We then went back at our allotted time to ask if we could start, we had to re-enter the name details we'd provided for our game in advance as there was something up with the system. We were then allocated a lane, but there were technical issues with it stopping us from starting, so had to go back out to let them know. To her credit, the young lady at the front got that sorted quickly. The rest of the bowling experience was fun, and then my daughter enjoyed herself in the arcade. A nice selection of machines and a handy coin dispenser which accepts card payments. We then intended to have lunch, but were told the Indian cuisine chef doesn't start until 3pm, so I had a beer, we left and came back later. When we returned, we ordered the Windsor Grill, which had a good variety on it. Chicken Tikka, Chicken Wings, Lamb Chops, and Fish Pakoras. We also had Masala Fries, a Paneer Makhani curry, and Naans. The food was ok, nowhere near up there with the more notorious mixed grill places, but definitely better than you'd generally expect in a bowling arcade! We had to ask again for our naans as they never came out. This was resolved fairly quickly after we raised it, and we were told apologetically that the chef hadn't noticed them on the order ticket. I had phoned them before visiting to make sure they weren't serving haallal meat. I was assured the Indian cuisine wasn't haallal, but when I was there flicking through the English cuisine menu after putting my order through, most of the chicken dishes on that had the haallal emblem by them. Really hoping that's all kept separate and I wasn't served that same chicken in my meal. This place is definitely worth checking out, and I felt the prices were very reasonable all round for food, drink and activities. I would visit again despite the few inconveniences I experienced. The overall first impression I got was that they're doing more things than they can handle properly, with not enough staff there. Bless the young lady at the front who was working so hard! Also, have to add, it's not the best mannered clientele in there.β

βHonestly a very good place to go with family for the bowling and arcade area. Food side, we did go on a Friday night, have a mixed of people from the locals to the some families. Service was great, staff will take care of you. Mixed Grill was average, price wise for food wasnβt bad. Bowling was fun with the arcade games.β
